HAOSTAY Art Museum — Hotel in Fujikawaguchiko

AVOID AT ALL COSTS This place was an absolute nightmare. I had a receptionist agree to refund me one night because I had to check out a day early. He did this over the phone on the day I booked, well before I ever arrived in Japan. However, he told me he would do the refund in person. In person, he then told me to take it up with Booking.com. I would have cancelled the entire booking if I knew that I was going to be lied to. Now, I am in a dispute with paypal trying to prove that the male Receptionist promised me the refund, and I only have proof of the phone calls. I spent more international phone call money today trying to get him to write me an email stating the exact day I checked out, so I can show Paypal that I left early as per our agreement. They cannot speak english well enough to understand the email address I gave them, and they aren't Japanese. Any issues you have, this hotel cannot help you with. It was over $319 for one night. At that price, I can't believe they lied and said I could check out early with a refund. I have spent hours on the phone to both Booking.com and the hotel only to get nowhere. If you don't speak Nepalese, japanese or vietnamese, AVOID! i regret the entire choice of this newer hotel and I believe reports of their dishonesty will come out...

Spacious room with 2 double beds for up to 4 people and also seating area was nice. It fits 4 of us nicely. And plenty of space to open up 3 large suitcases Rooms are opened with password so no need for keys. Relatively new building with minimalist modern design. It's only 2 storeys and about 20rooms, but there's a lift and friendly reception called Raz who gave us all the information we need for the stay There's no restaurant on-site, but there's a dining table and some seating area on the first floor, microwave, thermos, tea and coffee amenities that's available all day. We are more than welcome to use them There's also water dispenser we could use. Laundry room has 2 washing machines and 2 dryers along with laundry detergent and a big washing sink. Staff goes home at 10pm so it will be unattended with staff. If you have any needs in the middle of the night there's a phone at the reception which we can dial and supposedly there'll be a staff on standby who will attend to our needs. Didn't have to...

Really enjoyed our stay at HAOSTAY.

The room we got was spacious (we had 2 large suitcases and could comfortable have both open) and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious and the whole room was incredibly clean.

The amenities provided by the hotel was great, they even had a washing machine and dryer which helped us heaps. The staff was friendly and welcoming as well.

Location wise, HAOSTAY was on the other side of the lake but it was so convenient as it was a 2 minute walk to the konbini’s and other attractions. It was such a quiet and peaceful location compared to the other tourist locations for Mt Fuji. They also have a car park for those travelling with a car.

Will definitely return again...
