Fantastic location to see rows of cherry blossom trees. Another great vantage point of Mt. Fuji from the North Side of Lake Kawaguchiko. Very relaxing place. There are some vendors here as well as food stalls if you get a little hungry.
We visited this location as it was part of the "Cherry Blossom One Day Trip from Tokyo". I highly recommend this specific tour. No this is not a paid advertisement.

Definitely this is one of the best spot where to go and see the volcano. There are also food stores, coffee and public bus stop. It's easy to get here but don't forget to check the timetable of the last bus. Otherwise you have to call a cab....
