Easily one of the best affordable hostels you can stay at if you want to hike Mt. Fuji. It is located less than a minute from Mt Fuji Station and approximately 15 minutes of walk to the Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen-jinja 北口本宮冨士浅間神社, which is at the start of the Yoshidaguchi Climbing Trail. I stayed in the area for 2 days and 1 night. ||||I got to the hostel earlier than my check in time at 3 pm. The front door was open, no one was in at that moment, but there was clear instructions on what to do if you come in earlier than the check in time. I wrote my name on a piece of cute note paper they provided, placed it on my luggage for a pre-check in storage, and headed right out. When I returned to the hostel after my trip, Hana-san greeted me and provided me with the hostel information sheet, which had my room and bed number, room door code, side door code for late entrance, rules of the hostel, check-in and out times and wifi passwords. Hana-san is the sweetest host I've met thus far. She insisted on carrying my heavy luggage upstairs. She gave me a map and a coupon for the local bath. She took the time to recommend places based on my interests. She was very knowledgeable of the area, from the best places to eat the local delicacy Beef Hotto, to the time it takes to walk to the local bath and what to bring there. On my last day, I went on a spontaneous hike to Mt. Fuji and returned around 6 pm to pick up my luggage. Hana-san offered me to sit down and have some food before I leave for Tokyo, which was very kind of her. She even gave me a souvenir, a polaroid to remember my trip, and a Hello Kitty chocolate when I mentioned my mom loves the popular Japanese cartoon character.||||The place was kept very clean and neat. There were shoe racks and slippers to use on both entrances. The room was tidy and warm. The bed and blanket were fluffy and comfortable. The restroom and bathroom were clean; soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels and hairdryer were provided. The friendly roommates were added bonus. Self-served free breakfast of white bread, jam, boiled egg, fruits, tea, coffee, and milk was also provided.||||Overall, it was a great experience. Wish I could have stayed more days. Highly...

If you’re coming to Mt Fuji (Fujisan) you HAVE to come stay here and meet the amazing Hana-San and Satoshi-San. This by far was the best and most hospitable experience I have had in Japan.

The accommodation is incredibly cute and has the homely touches of the owners. The bed was incredibly comfortable, I’m sad to say goodbye to that mattress. The owners put out a large spread of free snacks, fruit, yogurts, noodles, boiled eggs, teas and coffees which they top up everyday! They even gave me a (FREE) bicycle that I was welcome to use for my whole stay, which really opened up Mt Fuji.

And to make it even more special I was left a gift to say thank you for coming and even a birthday gift. Which honestly brought me to tears, I only mentioned in passing this was my 30th trip.

To end the longest review I have left. Stay here, I know a day trip is attractive, but then you don’t get to experience the sleepy quiet Mt Fuji nor the hospitality of Hana-San and...

In one sentence: Really really awesome hostel! 最高のホステルでした!おすすめです! Overall: The hostel is pretty new, so everything inside looks new and is super clean! The hostel is 2 minutes from the station which connects you to the most important tourist spots here. Rooms: Super comfortable. Haven't slept this good in a while. Airconditioning, sockets, enough space for suitcases and personal belongings. Toilet/Shower: Super clean and modern! Easy to use. Toilets/Showers are close to the rooms and easy to find. Towels and shampoo/body soap, as well as toothbrushes and other small things for free. Staff: The married couple running the hostel is so nice and friendly! I booked last minute and was late for the check out; yet it was no problem and they were very understanding! They also speak English which is a big plus for foreign guests. We even got sweets/souvenirs from them when they sent us off. Best service! (Originally posted August 2018, Edited February 2024)
