Located opposite the Fujiyoshida train station, Cafe Salon beckoned to us like a siren’s song. It's not just a café; it's an experience, a genuine testament to the wonders of passionate coffee brewing and heartfelt service.
Walking in, the first thing that grabs your attention is the aroma – the rich, bold scent of freshly brewed coffee that promises a taste of comfort and warmth. True to that promise, the coffee served was nothing short of a masterpiece. It wasn’t just about the taste, which was undeniably exquisite, but the presentation as well. Served in a beautifully crafted cup, every sip was a delightful ballet of flavors, making it evident how much care goes into their brewing process.
The ambiance was equally captivating. The smooth jazz notes wafting through the air provided a soothing backdrop, offering a brief respite from the hustle and bustle of travels. And for those seeking a little escape into fictional worlds, a collection of mangas awaits.
But Cafe Salon is not just about coffee. Their food, too, stands out as well. The sandwiches we had were flavorful and fresh, every bite hinting at the love and care that went into their preparation. And their butter toast? Simply put, it was the best I've ever had. Crunchy, buttery, and oh-so-divine – it was a slice of heaven.
The clientele added to the cafe’s charm. A lovely mix of travelers sharing stories of their journeys, workers grabbing a quick bite before heading off, and students engrossed in their books or conversations. This diverse crowd, all bound by their love for good coffee and food, gives Cafe Salon a lively yet comforting vibe.
In conclusion, Cafe Salon is more than just a pitstop for travelers. It's a haven for coffee lovers and anyone looking to take a delightful culinary journey. Whether you're just passing by or making a day of it, make sure to drop in and experience the magic for yourself.

The coffee was one of the best we’ve drunk in Japan (ice latte and cappuccino) and being Aussie’s, we appreciate a good coffee! Made using a drip style and milk that was foamed by hand it went down smoothly and was awesome to watch the barista do his work while we waited.
The cakes were also beautiful, not too sweet and and went down a little too easily, could’ve had another slice! If I could read manga in Japanese, this would definitely turn into my coffee shop nest if I was staying...
Read moreBeautiful little cafe right outside the station with limited table seating and a bar. An older couple runs the place and they are both very nice. Rather small menu to japanese style sandwiches and toast for food but excellent drinks/coffee. Just a drink will run you close to 500 yen but with a sandwich it'll push you over 1,000 yen per person. Great place to nosh while waiting for a train or highway bus! We got the Hot Mixed Sandwich x2, Wiener Coffee, and a...
