This may have been the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. There were 2 single beds crammed in there, but if you had 2 people in the room I can't imagine where the luggage would go. Also it was probably about 80F outside but my room on the 5th floor was uncomfortably warm and there was no AC (at least none that I could find). There was a black machine that I think perhaps was some kind of fan or dehumidifier, all the directions/labels were in Japanese so I can only guess, but I could not make it do anything to cool the room down. There was a fridge tho it was hard to open as it banged into the bed, and there were 2 hairdryers, one of them worked. The wifi worked. They served breakfast but I'm not sure if it was free as i didn't get there in time. It was easy to get a taxi and they are inexpensive. Airport was about 15 mins and I think the taxi was about $15. Lots of little convenience stores around. The staff at the hotel only spoke a few words of English but they were super nice and did put in lots of effort to try and understand and to help, but the language barrier made it all but impossible. On the plus side, there was a vending machine at the end of the hall from my room that sold beer and water, which were the two things I actually wanted the most :). Oh and the other thing was that I had a hard time getting a...

Read moreStayed here for business for a number of days. It is quite close to Tenjin Station (maybe 10 minutes), and to a number of large department stores. The hotel is showing its age, and is in need of restoration. The rooms are quite small (as expected in Japan) and with the capsule Bathroom/Toilet arrangement. The air conditioning seemed to be on heat mode - which was annoying as the room was facing the south and capturing the sun. The western breakfast options were not overly interesting, but there was a good selection of Japanese breakfast items. Coffee was by machine and not overly hot. I did not eat dinner here, but visited a number restaurants within 2 blocks of the hotel (on the main road and in the back streets) - some good choices. Check in and check out times differed from what I was told by staff, so although I had to pay to stay longer, it was not as per the timeslot told to me - which was an annoying end...
