I stayed here one night with my sister. We arrived extremely early in the morning as we only had one night and day to see all of Hakone. The owner was extremely helpful throughout the process. We took a train from Tokyo to Odawara and then a 40 minute local bus to Asante Inn. For future travelers, take the bus stop from bus area #4. Please make sure your Suica/Pasamo cards have enough fare to get you to Asante/Hakone. I believe the trip was around 1,000 yen. The bus does not give out change; if you do not have a IC card, please bring exact change. The bus ride was smooth. From the bus stop its a 6 minute walk to Asante. We left our luggage at the hotel as it was too early to check-in and made our way to sight-see. Asante's location is perfect as you can walk from the hotel to the Hakone Open Air Museum and Gora; or take the bus to Ashi Lake. Our train was for 6am the next morning since we were in Japan during New Years and all other trains were sold out. There are no buses or trains to take us back to Odawara. The owner was kind enough to arrange a taxi for us at 5am. He definitely went above and beyond to make sure we had the opportunity to make our train. The onsen at the hostel is great, the facilities are clean, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend staying at Asante Inn if you...
Read more☀️ When i first arrived, i thought i was at the wrong place - i‘ve never booked something so nice for myself before! 🪲PROS- chill 4 people bedrooms, with a comfy bed and a big personal shelf + locker and a fridge for the room- clean facilities and rooms- towel, toothpaste/toothpaste and yukata were provided as well as shampoo and showergel- the common room was so cozy and nice, with tea and water always at the ready and a great view of the garden- i was satisfied with both the dinner and breakfast and the price was fairly cheap (~1200¥ or a bit more, depending on your choices)- PRIVATE ONSEN that you can book for around 50minutes at night and can use in the morning if nobody else is already using it (costs around 150¥ per use)- there is a shuttle bus going at pretty regular times in the morning. They offer a ride to both Gora-Station or Hakone-Open-Air-Museum! 🩸CONS- far from the city-centre/train station 🌱 i really enjoyed my stay. I had cool roomies that became travel companions and absolutely loved the inn, the onsen, the food and the kind staff!Definitely a recommendation if you ever decide to stay in Hakone - i...
Read moreWe booked a room for two and didn’t expect much due to the low price and modest photos on Booking.com — but we were pleasantly surprised! The hotel turned out to be much better in person than in the pictures. They should definitely update their photos to reflect the actual quality.
The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Every time we needed assistance, they were quick to respond and genuinely eager to help. The food is reasonably priced, and we tried both the Western and Japanese breakfasts — both were very good.
The private onsen was a highlight of our stay. We loved it and used it every day! The additional cost is very fair and absolutely worth it. The Japanese garden on the property is peaceful and adds a relaxing touch to the whole experience.
There’s also a fantastic point-to-point hiking trail nearby — we recommend the Miojingatake trail. If you’re in good shape, you can even include the Kintoki Shrine. After the hike, you can easily return by bus.
Overall, we highly recommend this...
