We had a wonderful stay at Hakone Miyagino House. The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and has a lovely garden. We had a large Tatami room with views of Mt. Fuji., comfortable, traditional Japanese futons, and a private bathroom, although our shower was shared. ||||The hotel is located in a quite, peaceful, beautiful, residential neighborhood which is convenient to the tramway that takes you up the mountain to the cable car, which in turn goes past the volcano and down to the lake. ||||The staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. We had a very short time in Hakone and Mr. Yamada, who speaks fluent English, was able to help us plan our trip so that we were able to make the most of the short time we had. He did research into time tables for us and even drove us to the Tram because he was afraid we might miss it. If you are a Chinese speaker, you should know that there is also a woman who speaks fluent Chinese at this hotel. ||||The only downside to Hakone Miyagino House was that there was no restaurant located in the hotel. However, Mr. Yamada helped us figure out good places to eat and we ate very well in Hakone. We had a wonderful stay in Hakone because of Mr. Yamada and Hakone Miyagino house. I recommend this hotel 100%.||||Tip: If you take the bus from the train station, you will be left off by a bridge. Cross the bridge and then take your next right. You will then have to take another right up the hill, down a little road. I think it was the second to last right before the end...

Read moreStay:1 night November 2023 - Twin room with bath We had a tough time with getting self-checked in as no one was around (just after 5pm) The host had sent a message indicating which room, but it had translated into english, and the rooms were labeled in Japanese. So it took a few minutes to figure it out. The internet never worked in spite us trying all the channels and passwords provided. The water in the sink only came out in a small dribble. There was only 1 hand towel, 1 face towel and 1 bath towel provided for 2 people. The grounds are cute. It is a 5 minute walk to the bus stop to Gora Station. You can also get to a convenience store and a couple restaurants after 5pm within a 10 minute walk. There is a kettle, microwave and fridge available. The bed was comfortable and the place was clean. So it worked for...
