Today is the last day of our 7 night stay in the Sekka Chalet and we will be truly sorry to leave. We are a group of 6 friends and we have had a really fantastic time. Jason has gone above and beyond as our host from the moment I found the chalets online and enquired about booking. He has made himself available at all times to help us with anything we might need, including giving us lifts to the grocery store (and helping us decipher the Japanese characters on various labels), daily recommendations of which ski area to head to (and driving us there), restaurant suggestions (all of which we tried and loved), and recommendations of a couple of great onsens with outdoor baths and gorgeous mountain scenery. We had some difficulty getting through to the bus company this morning to book a transfer to our next location, but Jason had it all organised for us within an hour of finding out we were having trouble. The chalet itself is really lovely - finished to an extremely high standard, warm and cosy (the underfloor heating is fantastic), comfortable beds, good water pressure, and Apple TV with a free movie channel for nights in. The WiFi coverage is excellent and the massage chair was a huge bonus, it barely got a break during our stay. It's also in a great location - 2 minutes to walk to the main street of Echoland (lots of restaurants, ski shops, convenience stores), 5 minutes' walk to a liquor store and small onsen, 15 minutes' walk to Happo village and 25 minutes to Hakuba village. All of the walks are very scenic so they feel like no time at all. All in all, we have had a great week in Hakuba thanks to Jason's help. We would recommend the chalets to anyone looking to stay in the area and we hope to return someday soon ourselves! Thanks a million Jason for a...
Read moreWe had a fantastic 5 night stay at blue bird chalet end of march 2016. Jason the owner is the most helpful host. He helped pick us up from our previous accommodation,to booking restaurants at night and dropping our bags to be sent to our next destination and he was patient in answering our 1001 questions about skiing, sight seeing, shopping etc. The chalet was so comfortable and was set up in very high standards. The beds and linens are crisp and clean. The kitchen is a chef's dream kitchen and is fully equipped for servicing two families with lots of hungry children. The car that comes with the chalet was so useful and saved us lots of money as we drove to the snow monkey park with the same car and we have used it to drive to the ski areas every day. The best part of the chalet was the location. It was in located so close to amenities and lots of really good eating places. Oh did i mention the heated floors and the heated toilets and the washing machine and drier that was useful considering we travelled with lots of kids in tow. Our children's favourite part of the chalet was the reclining massage chair. It was worth staying there just for the chair that massages you after a full day of skiing. We will be back for sure and we will tell our friends to contact you when they...
Read moreA few mates and I went to Hakuba for the second year in a row, staying at the newly-built Bluebird Hakuba chalets. We had a blast and I wanted to make sure the host, Jason, got full credit. Snow conditions contributed to a memorable visit but the off-piste times were just as good! The accommodation is sleek, well laid out, with great wifi coverage throughout and is also just around from the bars where we hung out in the echoland nightlife area (check out the Mockingbird). Jase has done a fantastic job with the chalets and it was great to have such a friendly bloke to rely on after the hassle of last year (drives you around, helps gets the boards, shopping, dinner etc). Visited an onsen hot bath for the first time too! If going to Hakuba make sure you lookup...
