Ito Kowakien — Hotel in Ito

This ryokan is very new : seemed to have been refurbished - the rooms are huge and modern!!!! The service is warm and friendly and there is a free pick up from Ito station to the hotel. The receptionist is warm and friendly ; spoke some English and took us to our room - room has a coffee machine and it's very clean and beautiful. Very impressive! Dinner was served at a common room and the food was awesome. Fresh and oishi. Breakfast was buffet and the selection was massive - good mix of both japanese and western cuisine. ||||The onsen in this hotel is lovely - they have an indoor and outdoor onsen and very well maintained. Also next to the hotel, upon exit of the hotel, turn right and there is a huge super market opened 24 hours and you can get your fruits and water. ||||I was very impressed by the overall service of the staff and the cleanliness of this ryokan - this will definitely be a top choice if I had to stay in Ito again. We stayed here two nights. The hotel had contacted us ahead of time about the lack of non-smoking room but offered to deodorize. Also reminded us about the availability of hotel shuttle pick-up at Ito train station starting from 2pm with a phone call. It took the second phone call to find the hotel staff who can speak some English. At the hotel check-in, we were greeted by a staff who can speak some English. The whole stay for two days was very pleasant. First dinner in a room with several tables was very good, with lots of fresh local seafood. Breakfast in the main dining room offered Japanese and some Western food. Second dinner was in the main dining room and professionally served with attention. Again very good food. We took the 9:10 shuttle to the Ito train station, with plenty of time to catch the 9:30...
