Pro: courteous staffs, spacious room, private garden and bath, another deep bath in the indoor bathroom, constantly flowing onsen, close proximity to supermarkets and restaurants, free water and beers (although I don't drink)

Con: lacks the luxurious touch in overall - e.g. the outdoor garden fences are made of plastic bamboo instead of real bamboo. Private garden's plants are not very well looked after. Some leaves are dead and it's not that pretty nor colorful. The close proximity to the train line means you will constantly hear train track sounds and sometimes announcements. The main public bath is shared with the main building (4 floors bldg Kowakien) and is super ordinary at best in the quality and variety (only 3 baths).

I didn't have dinner but breakfast was also quite ordinary.

Overall: a good ryokan with a private bath, but lacks any wow factors and not a very high cost...

We booked the Shikine room - a beautiful traditional Japanese-style tatami room with a private open-air hot spring bath, as well as in-room dinner and breakfast.

The service was excellent from start to finish: warm greetings, luggage assistance, room setup, and even pick-up and drop-off from the station. They even held umbrellas for us when it rained!

The traditional Japanese-style dinner and breakfast were both satisfying and amazing.

The private open-air bath was set in a peaceful garden surrounded by trees and flowers. In the morning, we could hear birds singing - it was so relaxing! You can adjust the water temperature by adding more hot spring water (even the regular hot tap water is sourced from the hot spring).

It was a truly enjoyable stay, and I highly recommend it!

They also have English-speaking staff, which makes everything...

Ito Ryokuyu is a special place. We spent 3 nights in the Mikura room and could not be happier. The room was spacious and boasted of beautiful and traditional Japanese design from the tatami mats to the wood carvings. The cute onsen was our first stop in the morning and our last in the evening every day, and left our skin glowing and minds relaxed.

The food was exceptional. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, which is not something we commonly do, but I can not recommend it enough at Ito Ryokuyu. Every meal is a smorgasbord of tiny bowls with delicious fresh food presented beautifully.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and professional, offering service above and beyond anything expected.

We look forward to the day we...

We stayed here for one night based on a recommendation from friends and had a phenomenal time at Ito Ryokuyu. Ito is stunning and the service and baths were perfection. Would definitely come back and recommend to our friends.
