Greatest value in the KIX airport area. Expected a business hotel, but Hatago is so much more. 10-minute walk from Rinku Town station (which is 5 mins from the airport) with most of the walk on an elevated walkway (take Exit #5 and just keep walking). Easy check in and great seating area on the main floor filled with Japanese and English Manga to enjoy. This area also serves as the breakfast area from 6:30, which we unfortunately couldn't try because of an early flight. Friendly staff explained the public bath information at check in and it's definitely worth trying it out. The bath is open until late (midnight) and early (from 5am), so we went down twice during our 1-night stay. We reserved 2 twin rooms (family of 4) and the staff put them right next to each other (not facing the main road which made for a quiet sleep). Rooms were spotless with their own washroom/shower/bath (should you not want to try the public bath). Comfortable twin beds (but the pillows weren't the greatest) and hardwood floors in the rooms! There are laundry machines downstairs, which we didn't use, with a small load washed and dried for 500 yen (you don't even need to add the soap). There's also a convenience store (Lawson's) right next to the hotel, very convenient. We loved our stay and we feel it's definitely worth the extra walk for the amenities and the great value. It's our new go-to for early...
Read moreI checked in for one night, due to an early flight. Check in was straightforward, but when I went to my 2nd floor room, the room opposite had three or four men from a neighboring Asian country who had their door cracked open and cigarette smoke was clouding the hallway. It’s a non-smoking hotel, so I told the ladies at reception. I doubt they did anything. I shut my door and put my bag against the door crack to block the smell. Inside the room, the USB port is broken as was the fridge which never got cold, not even after running all-night. Upon checkout at 6:45 this morning I wanted to let reception know so they can fix it before another guest is subjected to it, but no one was working and we were expected to use a check out machine. No way to complain or point out problems. Worst for me though is that it strongly appears that all non-Japanese, tourists and residents alike, are put on the same floor, floor 2. The non-smoking sign in my room is only in English, Chinese, and Koreans, but not in Japanese. As a resident of more than a quarter century, it is not acceptable. I’m not a tourist and expect not to be othered by...
Read moreThe hotel is less than 10min walk from Rinku Town Station and walkable to premium outlet. The hotel serves breakfast from 6 30am to 9.30am at 700yen which is reasonable priced. It also has hot bath which was clean n hardly have any guest using it. We actually stayed 2 nights. The 1st day we took shuttle bus from hotel to Aeon Mall (tax free at supermarket)which is 30min away n the bus has about 6 hotel pick up points starting from 1.06pm. Pls get bus ticket from hotel front desk. We didnt make it to the last return shuttle trip at 4pm+ so we took Bus A2 at yen 270 per adult and stopped at 4th bus stop Washington Hotel n walked 5min back to hotel. Why Aeon Supermarket ? It was reasonable priced tidbits n rice crackers to bring home at tax free. 2nd day - we went outlet mall n had some good shopping. From hotel to airport international terminal 1 - we took taxi to airport at 7.45am n the ride cost Yen 3,550 including toll Yen 940. We had 3 luggage, 2 cartons, 4 small backpack and had no problem to pack all in the taxi. We had 2 rooms, separate bookings n hotel was "clever" to put the rooms next...
