Overall, this was a cute little treat! Overall, I enjoyed my stay.
I love the novelty of checking into a hotel with robotic raptors. I enjoyed that they were dressed up for the summer. There were, however, a few things that I do need to bring up. I will start with things that are a little bit of a downside and then finish with the positive.
Downsides: Firstly, the distance. I stayed in early late July - early August. I distance from the station to the hotel is a terrible walk in the summertime if you have luggage. I did ship two of my pieces ahead of my stay there, but it was still a struggle. A taxi with GiGi or something of the like will save you. You are on the stop before the train departs over the bridge to Kansai Aiport if you choose to do that.
Secondly, I was charged 500円 for hot springs I can not use. I have tattoos, and I'm okay with not being able to use the public bath. I don't understand why I had to pay.
Lastly, the restaurant/buffet also seems to be in the other building. I am assuming I can't access it because all signs say nobody with tattoos. I think this may be a misunderstanding, but there was a lot of signage, so I wasn't going to ask. I ended up ubereating food in. There also aren't any restaurants close by either. You can, however, use GiGi, which does have great prices.
I do want to say the positive. Other than adorable the robotics.
I thought the view out of my room was beautiful. The sunsets were amazing on the summer evenings.
Which I do list distance in a negative. It also had bonuses for its location as well. I used GiGi to get from the hotel to KIX. Costing around 3000円. I happily paid, so I didn't have to lug my two large 50lbs bags, a stuffed carry-on, and personal.
The staff was great when I had to speak with them. Firstly, for the luggage I previously shipped there, and because I forgot my wallet outside. Which they promptly returned. I still feel bad about that.
Would I recommend this? Yes! But I would caution about the walking distance from food or the station. Any other season that would be a beautiful walk, but not in the height of summer.
Customer Service goes far in my book. You can't compete with robotic raptors that speak a bunch of languages and their...
Read moreWalk 12 mins from train station Self check in No staff assist you So strange have dinosaur to scare you The light in lobby is scary and bad The staff is terribly impolite and bad and not caring at all. There have strange sound in the hotel They have hot spring in hotel but also lots of strange and terrible It looks scary rather than romantic in evening for hot spring. You can feel very strange and uncomfortable in the hot spring. The picture look nice but actual environment is not. You may not see outside at all at night since you can only see the steaming air outside with strange sound around. The security for hot spring is so high. You need to scan your key card to enter and then get a ticket from counter and then scan the QR code to in and out for once. It is terribly inconvenient Hotel staff is terribly horrible and impolite. I walked from train station to hotel under the rain and I got so wet when arrival. The staff do not really care and just said please wait and wait. I waited for over 1 hour in lobby and the whole incident spare me 3 hours. In order not make my mood too bad, I paid duplicate first and so I can sleep instead of talking to them non stop. I paid it through agoda already. Staff said the booking is canceled and asked me pay again and again in the mid night calling the room so many times and disturb the rest. I said I did not receive any cancellation email at all. All I received is booking is paid and confirmed. Then the Staff said call police. I said it will be ok as my confirmation is paid and confirmed. The staff is so rude , so slow and so impolite. I have been travelling to so many places for last 6 mths and stayed in many different hotel. However, this hotel is the WORSE with such expensive price and POOR service. The price is terribly super expensive with such room, such horrible environment and terrible staff.
I asked to report to management but the staff did not.
Thus, I will share my review .
The room is small The bed is not clean. I would definitely NOT recommend. There are so many other hotel choices...
Read moreUnlimited access to the adjoining public onsen is a huge plus, but otherwise this hotel is lacking in three fundamental areas: cleanliness, sleep quality and service.
For barely €40 a night, the room just has to be clean, but this one wasn't. Hairs on the bathroom floor, stains all over the upholstery and crusty patches in the carpet prove that the room is not being cleaned between guests.
Extraordinarily hard mattresses and lack of sound insulation make it hard to sleep through the night. As an airport hotel, guests are coming and going around the clock, which is easy to hear.
You're an easy 5-minute walk from exit 1 of Rinku Town station (you can see the hotel from there) and all the conveniences of the outlet mall on the other side of it. Plenty of restaurants, cafes and konbinis there too. While the shopping area is inviting and lively, the path to the hotel has an "other side of the tracks" feeling - it's deserted parkland underneath highway overpasses - which I wouldn't feel safe in at night.
The usual Henn Na suitcase lockers are missing here and the check-in machines are deactivated until 3pm so there is no point in arriving early. There are coin lockers in the station. Unaware of the lack of lockers until arriving, we used the courtesy phone to contact the staff member on-site to ask to store our bags and were received by the only rude staff member we encountered in a month in Japan.
The public onsen is large and has an entertaining view across the bay. It's enjoyable to make multiple shorter visits at different times of the day to see how the atmosphere changes. It is completely free for hotel guests (a pile of entry tickets are provided in the passage from the hotel), but bring a 100 yen coin for the locker and the towels from your room. There's a small fitness room in the onsen too which costs 600 yen for a day pass, payable at the onsen reception. The onsen reception also has a cafe, anime library, formal restaurant, souvenir shop and some...
