Unfortunately, my experience was a letdown despite being entertaining. The food was good, but the VIP package (30,000 yen extra for 3 people) didn't live up to its promise. The 'VIP' seats were just slightly styled, but that's where the perks ended. We weren't seated according to the map, which was meant to be ant the front stage, which is the main reason I purchased these seats as my daughter always gets lumbered with someone tall in front of her but once we go there the standard seat were also at the front(which is not what is shown on the seat map during purchase). The highlight of the event, sumo wrestling, was also a disappointment - the VIP package didn't include priority access to wrestle the sumos, which was a major part of the appeal. Given the experience, I'd recommend sticking with a standard ticket. Honestly, I wouldn't highly recommend this place due to the unmet...
Read moreSuper fun and entertaining (also educational), definitely recommend. The first hour is an opportunity to get settled at your table, enjoy your food, walk around and observe the decor and paraphernalia, etc. The second hour they introduce the MC, the sport, the wrestlers, etc. They explain/demo a little about sumo, training, techniques, rules, and a quick spar. After that, there was a chance to take pictures with the wrestlers as well as challenge them in the ring. They had great personalities and made it so fun! There were some great comedic moments, so laugh and clap and enjoy! The wrestlers were adorably delightful. The staff was kind and attentive. The food was good too. I'm glad I did this before going to a real sumo event because it helped me understand a little about the sport so I am now a bit more prepared to appreciate a...
Read moreIt was a very fun show, but overall I’d give it 4 stars. To start, it was 35–38 degrees outside, and there was no air conditioning in the room. They tried to make up for it with fans for ventilation, which helped a bit, but wasn’t ideal — you’ll be dripping with sweat, so keep that in mind. The food was a bit bland, but fine. However, because there’s no AC and you’re sitting right in front of your own hot plate, it gets even hotter, which isn’t very pleasant. My partner ordered a glass of white wine but got such a tiny glass that it was gone in one sip. I ordered a beer and that was totally fine.
The show itself was really cool. In the beginning, they gave a great explanation of the sport, and at the end we got to watch real sumo matches and even go on stage ourselves.
All in all, a...
