Location wise, a bit far from Kanazawa Station - 15 minutes walk. But it is really close to Kanazawa Castle and Kenroku-en. And just down the street from Onmuji shrine.
Service is as expected for a capsule. Front desk is on the 2nd floor lobby. Grab toothbrush, disposable slippers and pajamas at said desk. The slippers are... Noisy. The underside is designed to be grippy on smooth flooring but get noisy on carpet - that is the entire sleeping area.
Regular Rooms are "tall" capsules - as in not double decked with a single room occupying its own vertical. But it is a capsule. Vertical sliding shutter that is locked by "respect privacy" deal. It is quite spacious for small to regular sized people. But large sized people will find this a little cramped - the bed is a single.
The "Premium" rooms are larger. And the premium area is lower density so expect less traffic noise.
That said, this hotel faces a street and sound proofing isn't great so all capsules on that side get mild road noise. Much quieter with the shutter down.
There are toilets on all floors. At least 3 wash basins with hair dryers - but no showers which makes one wonder about the hair dryers. Men get 3 standing urinals and 2 stalls, women get 4 or 5 stalls per floor.
Shower and bath is on B1 - there is a separate lift on L2 lobby to get down into it. There are 3 showers in little rooms typical of many capsules. And a common Japanese bath with big hot soak pool. Drink machines on most floors.
Dining and common area on L2. Breakfast can be purchased at front desk if not included with room. Salads,...
Read moreI arrived on a snowy day and requested to take a shower to freshen up as it was around 8:00 and I had the whole day in front of me. Check in was at 15:00 so I understand I was asking for a favor and they can refuse. I was told I can use the shower and onsen for one hour for 1100 yen. That is a bit steep of a price considering the size of the bath. Instead I opted to go to a nearby super sento, a larger bath with a morning entry price of 700 yen. So i suppose im kind of grateful they offered the price they did.
That aside, the whole capsule place is very clean, but there are no individual lockers. There is only a small cabinet in your capsule, so I didn't feel safe with my luggage. Thankfully I only stayed for one night so I wasn't too bothered, but is definitely a problem for longer stays.
The breakfast buffet was good. Food options were decent and you can eat and drink as much as you like. It is also open quite early from around 6:30 I believe.
I have mixed opinions about this place but for 4000 yen including the bath, spacious capsule and breakfast, as well as central location I think it is hard to beat and it is a good option for...
Read moreVery nice economical place to stay when you're alone. It is pretty safe for a place where you don't have a locked door. You need a key card to access the floor plus a keycard to enter the pod area and there is only same sex people staying in the same area so don't worry about safety. You have a small place to lock your important stuff and they have the option of getting a lock for your luggage. There is private showers in the common lavatory area in the basement which is nice if you don't want to be naked in front of everyone. There is a lounge open 24h/7 so you can bring your own food and eat, study or work. The onsen is also open all night which is nice. The pods are really clean and you have your own private TV, make sure to bring earphones to plug to the wall if you wanna watch it with sound. The only thing I didn't like is the curry. It would have been nice to inform that it would be just sauce and rice, no vegetables, no meats. I was a bit surprised to see that. I would recommend more to eat at the konbini right next to the hotel instead. Staff are also really nice. Thank you for the stay! I will definetly...
