I really love this lovely hotel..
Convenience - It is a stone’s throw from Karasuma Oike Station. So once you reach Kyoto Main Station, just transfer to Karasuma Subway (towards Kokusaikaikan) & third stop would be it. It’s just less than 5 minutes walk from Exit 1. The hotel is within walking distance to Nishiki Market, Samurai Experience (must go!), Nijo Castle etc.
Breakfast - this hotel offers two options for their breakfast. The guest can opt for the buffet @ Level 1 which consists of a mixture of international & Japanese food sections, or Japanese Breakfast @ Level 2. It was wonderful mixing around the options, and I really do love the Japanese breakfast for its quality and variety.
Hospitality - the hotel provides EVERYTHING. Umbrellas for guests, I literally was saved so many times from the rain by this service. They also provide items like BATH SALT!!, facial cleansing oil, hair brush, razor, facial lotion etc. Bedroom shoes and sleeping robes are provided too (in the room). You will be spoilt for choices. Oh! And a small corner for instant coffee, green tea sachets etc etc. They are prompt in topping up the items too.
Cleanliness - Salute to the ladies who work so hard to keep the rooms so clean. My towels were changed daily, they had towels for hands, bath towels and even one for face/hair! I came back daily to a clean room 👍🏻
Facility - they have drink vending machines for almost every level?? I am not sure if it’s all levels cos I didn’t go all levels to check. They also have washer & dryer at 3 different levels. For price of 500 yen to wash and 200 yen to dry, thumbs up! You do need to get laundry powder either from the counter or buy your own from convenience store.
Even though there are comments about how small the room is, I do think it’s relatively big compared to the rooms in Tokyo. Definitely enough room for a tall person to walk around. But the only thing is perhaps a bit hard to open up a big luggage in the room. The room is super sound proof (but no view so my window was closed throughout).
Tip: Remember to get your breakfast coupons when checking in (they will give the quantity according to the no. of nights you stay). Present the breakfast coupon @ breakfast time.
Thank you to Hearton Hotel for your hospitality & hard work, and making my stay such a...
Read moreFacilities: This is a three-star hotel, but it can be compared with domestic four-star hotels. It just lacks a swimming pool and the room is a bit small. I booked a double bed, which is generally OK;Hygiene: Don't worry about hygiene issues when you go to Japan. All hygiene is very good. I stayed for three nights. Maybe they knew we were staying consecutively, so they came to clean the room at around 2 pm. Just when I was going to rest, they gave up cleaning for a day, but they put clean towels and everything at the door, which was really good;Environment: Karasuma Station (the intersection of the Tozai Line and the Nanboku Line) Exit 1, turn left at the second intersection after a small intersection and it's within 80 meters; the transportation is quite convenient; two stops west of Nijo Castle, two stops north of Kyoto Imperial Palace, one stop east of the city hall, and Sanjo, Shijo, Kyoto Station, Kyoto Station, and Kyoto Station are all to the south. Dota, Higashi-something-temple, really nice, not far from the bus stop to Yasaka Shrine Slope, Chion-in Temple (there are several starting points in front of Chion-in Temple); and go south across the main road and then three small roads to the east, there is a commercial street, walk about ten to twenty minutes, there are many small shops along the way; across the main road there is a bus to Kiyomizu Temple, convenient;Service: Don't ask about Japanese service, absolutely good, I arrived at 12 o'clock in the afternoon, the room check-in is 3 o'clock in the afternoon, help us send gifts in time, and upgrade to a non-smoking double room, always saying sorry; room service every time I see it, I just nod and bend over, which makes my waist muscles trained;Other: The room fee feels a little expensive, I think it costs more than 1400, and I didn't see the...
Read moreHearton Hotel is situated in a convenient location. It is close to the train station and there are bus stops close by. It is also a 15 minute walk from the Nishiki market. There are many eateries, convenience stores and drug stores within a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The rooms are huge compared to other Japanese hotels that we have stayed in. They are clean and very functional. We really like the beds and the pillows. We paid for their buffet breakfast (1650 Yen for adults and 800 Yen for kids) and loved the selection of Japanese and Western foods. There is a huge salad bar with juicy, cut up oranges, cherry tomatoes, greens and potato salad. We were also there during New Years and tried their special breakfast (2500 Yen for adults and 1000 Yen for kids) and loved the various desserts. The expresso machine and the cold drinks selection was excellent. We LOVED their matcha green tea drink. One thing to keep in mind though, is that they don't switch up the buffet menu on regular days, so if you are staying there for a week, you might get tired of seeing the same selection.
We also loved their amenities bar where there is a great selection of products to choose from and it is open 24/7, so that is incredibly handy. Because it is a bigger hotel, the staff does seem a bit more aloof and reserved. For an older hotel, the rooms are very clean and affordable. We really appreciate the earlier check-in (2 o'clock) and later check-out (12 o'clock). Overall, though, we enjoyed our stay and still reminisce about their match...
