A home away from home. Spacious room (superior twin room), a washing machine, microwave & a small balcony to dry clothes made traveling really comfortable and convenient for us. The best part was the bathroom - the shower area was outside of the bath tub. I love how we can fill the bath tub with just a push of a button, and shower beside it while we wait for the tub to fill. In my opinion, soaking with a clean body in a clean tub makes a lot more sense than showering in the bath tub, then soaking in the same bath tub I dirtied. There is also a bike rental company offering delivery & pick up service to this place for an additional fee - Kyoto Chirin Chirin. The receptionist called and arranged the bikes for us, but you can also reserve their bikes at least 3 days in advance. I highly recommend exploring kyoto's palaces, castles & further areas by E-bike, (but not for shopping. Shopping areas do not allow bikes in the during the day). This is one apartment I wish I could stay longer, and I plan to book the same place again if I ever go...
Read moreMy room was large, spacious, and very clean, and the bathroom was similarly excellent too. The hotel was overall very quiet and accommodating, and really felt like a luxury stay while being very affordable to the point that I thought it was too good to be true. Another plus is that it's not too far from the station or downtown Kyoto either so you won't have to walk far. Additionally, the staff were very friendly and patient despite me only speaking English; thank you to Kaneda-san for helping me with shipping my luggage! I highly recommend booking here if you can, it's a real hidden gem. I plan on exclusively using this hotel for future Kyoto stays and recommending it...
Read moreVery clean and comfortable. Family of four slept comfortably on four single beds (quite common in Japan to not have double beds). Spacious by Japanese standards. Was able to do some laundry there, showerroom doubled as a drying room. Clear instructions for all devices were available in English, which was very helpful. Replacement amenties like toothbrushes and shavers readily available. Located ner Karasuma Oike station, which is a junction for Tozai and Karasuma lines, so was a convenient location for Kyoto city (train in by Karasuma line) shrines and walking around east of city (Tozai line) Nishiki market (walked there) Would stay here again next time...
