The hotel is right next to the kyoto-kawaramachi station on the hankyu line (exit 6) and it was so convenient for travelling. There are many bus stops nearby that also led to prime tourist hotspots like Gion Street, Hōkan-ji, and more. There are many shops nearby that could serve all of your needs be it shopping or eating; Nishiki Market is also super close by.
Kyoto Central Inn provided all necessary & basic ammenitities that one would need. The bathroom was definitely on the smaller side, but it was still decent for a petite-sized asian woman like myself. My only gripe with this place would probably be my struggles with the wifi. The connection was constantly fizzling out for me and loading & uploading media was not the smoothest. In general, I did not mind it as much as I was out of my room majority of the time. However, if you are someone who is a content creator or requires heavy usage of wifi, this might be a point to consider. I had to rely on my data instead most of the time in the room. In a nutshell, i had a great stay at Kyoto Central Inn & did not encounter any major problems. The star of the show was definitely its prime location & reasonable price for...
Read moreNot sure how this is a 3-star hotel. It is very old and run down, the bathroom is smaller than a airplane bathroom - the rooms however are decently sized? You can't even sit on the toilet properly due to the size of the bathroom and strange orientation of the toilet.
The Wifi didn't work either, I asked about this and apparently they knew about this problem for quite a while. During our 3-day stay it was not fixed. Kind of a bummer because our room didnt have cell service either, so no way of reaching the internet, making calls or texting.
There were mosquitoes in our room for some reason? May be related to the issue where you can literally hear anything from the street down below, it sounded like the windows were open (but they were facing a wall and shut close?). A good nights sleep is nothing that can be achieved in this hotel, the sound of loud cars, ambulances and the crosswalk through the night were horrendous.
If I would visit Kyoto again I would choose a more expensive...
Read moreLocation is the best! Bus stops to and from Kyoto Station are just steps away. It is also walking distance to many attractions like Gion, Pontocho Alley, Kami River. Starbucks is just downstairs and Lawsons convenience store is just at next door. Lifts are available so dont worry about big heavy luggage.
Receptionists are very friendly, helpful and can converse in English. They do provide luggage storage for free. Also, they provide luggage delivery service but please communicate in advance especially if you need same day delivery.
Room is decent, nothing to complain. They provide towels, toiletries incl. Toothbrush toothpaste but just like other hotels in Japan, they DONT provide drinking water.
Overall, a good experience and would highly recommend to everyone... And thanks to all the staffs for...
