My sister and I visited the Good Nature Hotel Kyoto for the second time.|After a great previous year (a review from Sep 12, 2023, which for some reason is not on the website, and it is also strange that the hotel only has 75 reviews in total - as if someone "zeroed" the posting of the reviews)|Unlike the previous year when we were three people and we got a huge and unusual room, in which there are three dedicated beds for three people (usually a folding bed is put in for the third person), this time we got a small room for two people, in the location furthest from the elevators and with poor structure and planning.|The way to the room was the longest possible, because the location of the room was in the corridor parallel to the elevators (the rooms in the hotel are along corridors that make up a rectangle) and since there are only two elevators that are only on one side of the rectangle, it should be taken into account that when you get out of the elevator, you may have to walk a long way to the room you will get.|The room itself - Twin Bed - was small as you can see from the attached photo.|The bathroom sink, where you can shave and wash your hands, was in the passage from the front door towards the beds, and not in the bathroom itself.|Do you think it is respectable to shave and brush your teeth, for example, right in the bedroom?|The bathroom and toilets were also very small compared to the previous year, even though they were equipped with the best modern equipment.|The beds themselves are comfortable and the sleep quality is good.|This year, unlike last year, we did not order breakfast at the hotel because the supplement required was huge and unjustified, what's more, in our experience the previous year the meal was of normal and average quality.|The location of the hotel is excellent and close to the main streets in Kyoto and is convenient as a point of departure for any attraction you want to see in the city, especially for those who wish to shop in the vicinity of the hotel which is full of the best and most fashionable shops in Kyoto.|Probably on the next visit to Kyoto, we will look for...

Cons: Toilet and Sink Issues: Our toilet was clogged upon arrival, and while staff unclogged it, a pool of red liquid remained after fixing (Guessing someone prior flushed feminine products), which should’ve been checked/addressed beforehand. The sink in the separate area was also clogged, and we had to fix it ourselves with a cup. Better maintenance checks are truly needed.
Overpriced for Quality: The $600+ Higashiyama Terrace Suite felt more like a 3-star room with outdated tech. The tablet-controlled features was laggy and crashed often—more of a hassle than a bonus. Don't implement "smart tech" in a room if you use low budget tablets.
Poor Noise Insulation: Street noise was very apparent with sheets/curtains closed. A 4 star hotel should have better exterior noise insulation. Interior noises were not much better, slamming doors, and stomping neighbors were all clearly audible.
Air filter / Humidifier: This seems to be a standard across all hotels we stayed out but this one had molded cap at the bottom that you fill with meaning that the water you fill will they sit in the same pool of molded cap. Truly disgusting.
Unhelpful Staff: Basic questions about the train station were brushed off with no effort to assist.
Spa Coupon Misleading: Limited to just two options, the spa coupon felt like a bait-and-switch. While there’s a disclaimer, clearer communication would help than be told when you reserve that it didn't qualify for the promotion.
