I recently had the pleasure of visiting a charming donut place nestled in the heart of a well-known street, and it proved to be an absolute gem. This delightful establishment offers a lovely environment to both get work done and enjoy quality time with friends. With its extensive menu of delectable donuts and a wide variety of drinks, this place easily became a favorite spot of mine.

The ambiance of the donut place is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing hangout session. The interior is tastefully decorated, with cozy seating arrangements and ample natural light that adds to the overall pleasant atmosphere. Whether you're seeking a quiet corner to work or a lively space for socializing, this place has got you covered.

Now let's talk about the star of the show – the donuts! I had the pleasure of indulging in an array of flavors, and each one left me craving for more. The chocolate mochi donut was a divine treat, boasting a perfect balance between the rich, velvety chocolate and the chewy, delightful mochi texture. The green tea donut was a unique twist, with its subtle, earthy flavors that complemented the sweetness of the donut beautifully. But the real standout was the special green tea with chocolate donut – a harmonious combination of two beloved flavors that resulted in pure bliss.

The menu is expansive, offering a plethora of options to suit every palate. From classic favorites like glazed and powdered donuts to innovative creations that push the boundaries of taste, you'll find something to satisfy every craving. The variety extends to the drink selection as well, ensuring that you can pair your donut with the perfect beverage.

The staff at this donut place deserve special mention for their friendly and attentive service. They are knowledgeable about the menu and are always ready to offer recommendations or answer any questions you may have. Their genuine enthusiasm and passion for their craft enhance the overall experience and make you feel truly valued as a customer.

In summary, this donut place is a hidden treasure that impresses on multiple fronts. Its welcoming environment makes it an ideal spot to get work done while enjoying scrumptious treats, and it's equally perfect for catching up with friends over a cup of coffee and a mouthwatering donut. With its prime location and impressive variety of donuts and drinks, this place is a must-visit for donut enthusiasts and anyone looking for a cozy, delightful...

Stumbled across this donut shop while walking around. First impressions, impressed with the looks of the donuts and the size of the shop, there’s a lot of seats and cosy spots to indulge in your donuts. But the focal point of the shop — the donuts, were not great. Having tried many different donuts around the world, this was probably the most underwhelming ones I’ve tasted.

The mochi donut was unsweetened (which I’m okay with) but it had a very oily taste to it. The mochi was also quite lacking?

The glazed donut (not sure what it’s called) was decent in texture and taste but a little too sweet for our liking.

The caramel butterscotch donut was the best one we tried, not too sweet, with a slight hint of coffee. The texture and taste were good, and unlike the mochi donut, there was no oily taste to it.

The box of assorted mini donuts however was NOT good.. Some of them were completely hard on the outside and was completely off in texture. Those that were not hard were also extremely greasy. We could not finish the donuts, and had to dispose them.

We visited this cafe around 7.15 pm, and we picked the caramel butterscotch donut that was just put down for display by the staff. The rest were on display for perhaps pretty long (my guesses). I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that the donuts were not as good due to our timing of visit. But regardless, I would expect a fresher batch of donuts that are not stale, if they were going to still be open until later in the evening.

I think the service was generally friendly, and the staff were helpful, no complaints on that.

That being said, I would not return or recommend this place, unless the future reviews are...

Donuts: My overall rating is based off this because "donuts" is in the name 😊 All of the cake donuts have the same donut base and all of the yeast donuts have the same base (i.e. if you order a cake donut with chocolate icing, it isn't chocolate cake-- it's a regular cake donut with chocolate icing). So, it is really only the frosting/toppings that are different. I ordered a chocolate frosted cake donut and it was tough and oily, likely overfried or fried in cold oil. I have a pretty high tolerance for "meh" food but I threw it out because it didn't taste good. I also ordered a lemon meringue yeasted donut which was better, but an average donut. The decaf coffee I ordered was very good and strong, which was a plus. Overall, these donuts look much better than they taste and if you're looking for great tasting donuts, I'd give this place a pass.

Service: Good. My coffee came out quickly, the servers were kind, and they seemed to efficiently box up donuts for folks who ordered 4+. It is hard to give this a review because you pick and carry the donuts yourself 😅

Atmosphere: There is actual room to walk around and sit down!! A nice respite from all the bustle and crowdedness of...

Halfway done with our Japan guide/itinerary (it’s coming so soon)! Shoot us a DM if you want us to reach out when the guide is live for purchase. Here’s a list of the places we ate at in Kyoto. 🌟Katsukura is well known for their tonkatsu but make sure avoid the main location to skip lines (we still waited maybe 30 minutes) 🌟So many cute bakeries in Kyoto, we loved Fiveran 🌟 Semmaruya honten is right in the mean downtown and serves traditional Yuba hotpot which is fried tofu skin, it’s super clean and warming 🌟IMO Pi Pi served this insane purple potato Mont Blanc ice cream with roasted sweet potato pieces, this wow’d us 🌟Pizzeria Marita for some Michelin approved pizza and it may shock you but Japan has really good pizza 🌟Hafuu is a popular steakhouse but go for lunch to try the wagyu katsu sandwich which kind of reminded us of a cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo with pickles on the side 🌟 Ishikawaya coffee is really cute and we went here specifically for their fruit sandwich, they change the toppings seasonally but ours had Japanese oranges and apples - so simple and nice 🌟Tasuki serves massive shaved ices, it’s hard to find on the map but look up the Ace Hotel and it’s in a cute complex. We got the seasonal one with Sakura and mochi 🌟Gion Yorozuya is another Michelin rec but for udon and donburi bowls, super cheap, no frills, and small so you may experience a line 🌟Ramen Sen-no-Kaze is legit and go for the ramen gyoza combo, their char sui pork topping was the best we had in Japan 🌟we were on a gyoza kick in kyoto but Motoi gyoza is our number 1 🌟Isami Sushi for cheap quality rolls we got for take out 🌟 Chao Chao gyoza, surprise surprise, more gyoza and this one had a TWO HOUR WAIT there will always be a wait here but they are very good 🌟 Okaffe was a nice breakfast and matcha spot and apparently they are very famous for their coffee and won a bunch of awards 🌟Nishiki Market - IYKYK, a must go in Kyoto and we’ll be sharing a full video on this 🌟Koe Donuts is for our donut lovers, we got a strawberry mocha donut Hope this helps!! A must visit in Kyoto is the Nishiki Market! They call it Kyoto’s Kitchen. It’s a somewhat indoor market lined with 100-200 stalls focusing on seafood. What we ate… • Grilled shrimp on skewers ($5.29) • Shrimp tempura on a stick ($4.16) • Broiled crab stick ($3.03) • Grilled scallop with soy and butter ($6.11) • Beef sushi ($6.53) Koe Donuts around the corner will satisfy your sweet tooth craving. We tried the strawberry mochi donut but the market had all kinds of desserts like fruit sandwiches, taiyaki, ice cream, and daifuku of course. • • • • #sistersnacking #sistersnackingjapan #japan #japanfood #kyoto
