We stayed at this hotel for three nights. Its a kind of boutique hotel. Interior design is great and modern. Public transport very close (bus and subway). Rooms are quite small but the bathroom and separate wc are spacious. The bathroom is a big shower with an integrated bathtub (japanese style). The bed is comfortable but there's only one pillow and it's very hard, stuffed with something that makes it feel not soft enough. Should have asked for a second and softer pillow but always forgot until I went to bed again... There's a very comfortable lounge with a kitchen you can use and a laundry with a washing machine (400¥ incl detergent) and a dryer (100 ¥/30 minutes). Rooftop terrace with great views open til 9 pm. I needed a massage and the staff recommended a great place nearby (Healing Space Makapuu). TV in the room just shows Japanese channels (or I was too stupid to find BBC or CNN...) but that doesn't matter if you have a tablet and Wi-Fi (good and free in all areas of the hotel). The only thing I really didn't like at all about the hotel (besides the pillow) was the breakfast. You can only choose between japanese and western style breakfast menue (no buffet). The western style breakfast consisted of a sandwich (never knowing what type of sandwich you would get), a small slice of omelette with ketchup on top, salad with dressing, two small slices of meat and two very tiny pieces of fruit and a bowl to get Miso soup from a pot. If you don't like the breakfast you can always go to Mc Donald's just opposite the hotel or buy something in the nearby stores. Coffee, milk and a selection of juices from a buffet as much as you want for breakfast though. Resuming: I would stay at this hotel again but book a room...
Read morewe stayed here for 4 nights, 1 night in the standard queen room and the remaining in the standard queen japanese style room.
staff were extremely friendly, always greeting guests that were leaving or coming in. they allowed us to store our luggage prior to check-in and even after check-out as we were visiting a nearby temple.
common areas: • common areas like the library and eating/kitchen area were styled well • kitchen area has a microwave as well as hot and cold water to make coffee and tea. • there is a rooftop area where there are tables so you can relax and enjoy the sunset. • unfortunately, one common area was still closed due to renovation (the area next to the library). we also did not get to order anything from the bar or cafe as it was also being renovated.
room: • rooms are a good size. • toilet and bathroom were VERY clean. we liked that the toilet, bath and sink were all separated. • power outlets were conveniently located on both sides of the bed frame. • there is a TV but from our experience, there is no netflix sign-in option even though the remote has the button for it. available channels are in japanese. • preferred the japanese style room over the standard room. the standard room was carpeted and carpet appeared stained.
reasonably priced and located near train station, bus stops, family mart, mcdonalds and 7/11. will come back again the next time...
Read moreWhere to start? WIFI is very slow, sometimes even stops working. STAFF not helpful at all. We came and there were 2 people at the reception but still had to check in by ourselves through the screens at the entrance with the late standing next to us making sure everything was working when she could have just directly checked us in HERSELF?!?!? I don’t know -BREAKFAST!!!⚠️ careful, they say breakfast included but what they mean is you have 3 savoury sandwich options (BLT, shrimps&egg, hummus) to choose from and THATS IT. THAT YOU MUST BOOK THE NIGHT BEFORE! If you want a croissant, you have to pay extra 600JPY for it and the sweet options are very very limited. -SERVICE is terrible, staff is very narrow-minded especially when you ask for something that is slightly different. Be ready to be patient. English level is low, but better than at other places I’ve been to in JPN. -ROOM was dirty. A full layer of dust covering bathroom shelves and the one JUST ABOVE THE BED. Disgusting. (See picture for reference, that’s dust on top of the bed that you see on my finger. RIGHT ABOVE MY HEAD (Room is very small, so gets a bit complicated when having big luggage but I guess that’s just anywhere in Japan. No water in the room, you have to go get it yourself on the...
