We arrived here early in the morning for a 4 night stay. From the very start the experience has been fantastic. The day before arriving I was sent an email with instructions of how to get to the residence from the closest station and what to do if no one was at reception. We were able to leave our bags with reception and then hit the ground running around Kyoto.|The staff were super friendly and the two bedroom apartment was perfect for my family of four (2A & 2C). My husband and I had our own room as did the kids who shared a room with two single beds. Super cool from either having to share one room or have two separate rooms with our other destinations within Japan.|Having a washing machine was perfect to catch up on washing and a fully equiped kitchen was also perfect to cook breakfasts each day.|The location was pretty good too being a half hour walk from the main area of Gion.|There are many sites to see close by, or the bus / train system is quite easy to navigate too.|There are bicycles available to hire at Four Sisters. We didn’t use this facility preferring to walk, however knowing they are available is great too.|There are restaurants within walking distance which is quite handy if you don’t want to go into the main area of Kyoto.|Overall, the stay here was great and highly recommended. Any questions we had were quickly answered with the staff being very knowledgeable...
Read moreKyoto service industry is famous for it’s hospitality. Apparently four sisters is not up to standard. I stayed there for 3 weeks during the Wuhan virus lockdown. I only knew the hotels didn’t provide housekeeping services after a non refundable reservation confirmation. The hotel added some rules and regulations to prevent spreading of virus which was a good measure.
Must wear mask in the lobby and shouldn’t stay long in the lobby area is the guideline to the tenants, However, I saw at least two times their staffs had long gatherings in the lobby without wearing masks.
Smoking is not allowed but one of the staff smoked in the entrance frequently. I was forced to get some 2nd hand smoke.
I was told the shower head has to be replaced in one of the morning when I was about to leave. I asked him not to do the other day as I have some personal things in the bathroom. He acknowledged but replaced the shower head later.
Location is convenient without two supermarket nearby. Quiet area. Bed is supportive and kitchen utensils good enough for cooking.
Hotel is a three storey building. All the rooms on the ground floor is facing walls. I stayed at a one bed room unit with lights from windows facing a wall two feets away. Website photos are not showing the true picture.
I have been to Kyoto for over 10 times and it’s the worst hotel ever in terms of...
Read moreWe've loved out stay at the four sisters. The location is perfect for a family. It's close enough to the hustle and bustle to walk in for the day, but far away enough that we get to return to a lovely quiet street. Some of the top tourist sights on the doorstep and the train station is only 8 mins walk away which provides access to other Kyoto tourist destinations. There are children's parks and gardens near by for my 1 year old to expend some of his energy (which is essential for us to be able to sleep at night!) Despite not being in the centre of things, there are plenty of delicious restaurants to choose from, and better yet, because they are not in the busy areas, you can almost always get in without reservation! The rooms are spacious and simple. Comfy beds and a well-equipped kitchen for cooking in (we planned to but never did to be honest!) Rooms are good size with space for portacots to be put up next to the bed. 2 things I'd like to point out which weren't perfect; 1 - the wardrobes, despite being large, don't have any draws and only a few hangers making unpacking your clothes difficult. 2 - the bathroom is also your dryer for clothes, which typically takes 5 or so hours, so you can't shower or have a bath during this time. Both minor things, but may be helpful for some to know! Overall we couldn't ask for a better accommodation for our...
