Shikinean Gion Shirakawa — Hotel in Kyoto

This hotel is situated on the edge of the Gion district which means you are close enough to the tourist attractions and the busier parts of town whilst being able to stay in a peaceful area.

Staying here feels like you have your own apartment in Kyoto and is very homey.

The facilities are amazing - especially the bath! They have an automated bathtub that makes bathing a fun high tech experience.

The amenities provided were of a high quality and very much appreciated. My only comment would be that it would be good to have the tea and coffee sachets replenished...

Don't let the lack of reviews keep you from booking this place. It was an amazing hotel. The location is great in the Gion area with walking distance to the center and the big market. The room at the ground floor had an amazing view to the stream outside. The room had seperate bath and toilet. Air con, air purifier, big tv, free drinks (including beers and champagne) in the fridge. The receptionist was so nice and helped us when we needed to call someone to arrange stuff. We could borrow umbrellas and we even got to keep them when we checked out because it was raining.

This condo was stunningly beautiful and our favorite place we stayed while in Japan. The proximity to Gion and being right against a flowing stream in a beautiful neighborhood… it’s nearly impossible to beat. Well, it’s not immediately obvious, this place is also one block away from a bus stop that takes you directly to Kyoto station as well as many other places. The bus is not very crowded and it’s extremely clean. We did not mind taking it at all. It’s also about a 7-minute walk to the closest metro station and less than a 10-minute walk to another.
