[General] Located 2 station away from Kyoto main station. Nearest Kyoto JR is Tamabaguchi station. Booked a twin room as a solo traveller. Room is quite big compared those business hotel chains. Price per night is much cheaper as well. Booked mine for around $36 SGD per night for 7 nights (Jan'25). The owner allows luggage storage prior to check in if you inform her more than 24 hours in advance via the app.
Do note there is no lift/elevator in this facility. So you have to carry you luggage up by yourself (highest is 5th floor).
[Location] Location wise could be better tbh, 10mins walk to JR station. The nearest public transport is the bus stop around 5 mins away (on your left when you exit the hotel). I use the bus daily (207) to get around instead of the JR train. More convenient via bus. Convenience stores are mostly 6/7 mins walk away.
Do check out the nearby Makoto no yu onsen (if you have no tattoos) as well. 3 hot pools, 1 cold pool and a sauna. Quite chill when I went at 7pm+.
[Amenities] Basic amenities is provided such as Standard Body soap, shampoo and conditioner is provided. 1 toothbrush and 1 set of towel (face & body) is provided for the whole stay. (I get 2 sets since mine is a twin room).
The room's TV is an Android TV. Free Netflix is provided. You can watch YouTube on the TV as well. Pretty awesome.
[Service] The 'hotel' is more of an Airbnb type of accomodation. Enter facilities & room via passcode. Most of the things are self served. 3 Microwaves & 3 water boilers on 1st floor. Some instant coffee provided at the main hall area as well.
Two washing machine/dryer available for use as well @300 yen.
The owner speaks mainly Japanese and Chinese. She can speak limited English. Very kind & friendly lady. If you have any problems, you can let her know via a feedback box on the counter.
You check in and out by yourself since there is no room card or anything. Pretty hassle-free.
Overall, I would say the price/size of the room is pretty worth it. Especially for solo traveller. At this price, you probably can only get a capsule hotel Kyoto tbh. Probably outweight the demerits of this hotel...
