Hotel Odashima — Hotel in Morioka

As the reviews say, the building may be old, but it is clean. I wouldn't mind staying there just for the night. I think the customer service at the front desk is excellent. You can walk to various drinking places at night. Breakfast was delicious.

The rooms are clean and beautiful, and the beds are of good quality for a good night's sleep. The breakfast buffet was a little disappointing for those who prefer Japanese food (the miso soup was instant), but the taste was good and the egg rolls were very tasty.　The hotel staff is courteous and very friendly.

Unfortunately, as is the fate of old hotels, the sound of motors is loud and noisy, the curtains are not light-blocking so you can see the light, the soundproofing is not very good, the sound of talking in the hallway and the TV in the next room leaks in, and the drainage noise from the bathroom in the other room is loud.

It is a good hotel if you don't mind the noise.

We arrived (to our surprise) during Morioka's Sansa's Festival, which was parading down the street adjacent to our hotel. And, they put us in a window view room! So we got to see the parade without the crowds. The room was a standard small double person small Japan small room. Two people per their small bed and share their small tiny blanket. Suitcases fit snugly in he tiny hallway, sorry if there's a fire. The semidouble was too small so we paid a little more for a twin. The room appears freshly refurbished and is very pleasant. Some high floor rooms have great views to mountains but ours did not. Management professional but though we requested quiet room with views, the room allocated was just above some kind of constantly noisy machinery. Sleep was not restful. Would not return...
