Absolutely loved this museum, it had so many interactive exhibits as well as a variety of items, history and artistic items. It's one of our favourite museums in the north of Japan so far and it's great for all ages. They also have a small gift shop with a variety of items for all, souvenirs and food and gives a great overview of Morioka, its traditions, history and rulers. Read moreSurprisingly good! The first floor is free. There is a cafe, gift shop and some displays where you can learn about the festivals of Morioka. The second floor costs 300 yen and displays the history of Morioka and a special exhibit. Definitely recommend, even if you just watch the videos of life in Morioka in 1923. There isn't a lot of English signage, but I was surprised by the quality of the displays. You can also see a pocket watch and pistol given to the Nambu clan by Queen Victoria for helping...
