Nisyōkan — Hotel in Nachikatsuura

The hotel offers very special hot spring experiences, where the bath is located inside caves right next to the coastal line. The buffet that comes with the room rate is pretty good - the variety of food and drinks is great.

The reason for a bad review is because of the AC issue in the room…

We first complained about the hotness of the room 2 hour after our check-in and the hotel did nothing about it… then 4 hours later the room became hotter and the in-room temperature became 28 C. The hotel initially still refused to do anything until we insisted that the hotel must do something to improve the hotness issue… they offered only one fan for us to use… after some negotiations, the hotel offered two fans to us eventually… when it was almost midnight…

Update 1: 12:13am the hotel offers a new room, which is an upgrade… this really only helps a little… it is so late and the AC in the original room seems to start working… the air temperature right in front of the AC vent is 19C and the room starts to cool down… I just don’t understand why the hotel can’t act more timely and they must wait until the issue is escalated…

Update 2: The hotel called the next day in the morning ~8am and offered us late check out at 12pm to compensate our late night...

One of our favorite onsens -- so nice, we went here twice! The food is good, not great, except for the sushi and especially sashimi-- big, fatty pieces! After meals, head up the spacewalk escalators to catch stunning morning or evening views. Not much of a view to recommend at night.

The recent renovations look amazing; the lobby is brighter, more modern in aesthetic, and just more spacious. The arcade room (hallway?) leaves much to be desired. It's very Showa-era there. Would have loved to see Mario Kart, but that's not what you're here for.

The cave springs are of course the main attraction, and they're glorious in the mornings. I fully recommend you go before the sunrise so you can experience the full...

日昇館に宿泊しました。 当方喘息持ちで部屋に入った時に何故か違和感が、、、まさかと思い部屋のエアコンのフィルターをチェック、、 そうしたらやはりフィルターに物凄い埃、、

日付が書いてあるがこれが前回掃除した日付だろうか、、半年経っている、、 この部屋のエアコンだけがこうだとは限らないので恐らく全ての部屋がこの状態なんでしょう。 いったいいつ掃除するんでしょうか？ 一年後？二年後？ フロントに連絡するのも面倒くさかったので空調はオフにしました。

料理に関しても勝浦の生マグロを期待したのてすが、時期的なモノ？大きさ？色の薄ーいピンク色の水っぽいマグロで濃厚なマグロ独特の旨みやねっとり感も何も感じませんでした。 生マグロを謳うのであれば、いろんな部位、、中トロや大トロ…とまでは言いませんが中落ちやいわゆるネギトロを出して欲しかった、、、数切れ食べて「もういいや」って感じです。

あとは甘エビとサーモンだけ、、南紀勝浦！と言うことで飲むので刺身を中心とした海鮮に期待したのが間違いでした。 めはり寿司も生シラスもありませんでした！

朝食に関してもマグロはないんですか、、、 勝浦近郊色々宿泊しましたがどこも朝食でさえ、生マグロ　イカなどの刺身はありましたよ！？

干物も冷めたキビナゴだけは寂しすぎる せめてミニ七輪で焼いて食べたかった。

また、アルコール飲み放題ですが、訪問前にネットからの問い合わせで 「アルコール飲み放題はありますか？飲むのは四人家族で私だけです」と問い合わせたところ 「生ビール飲み放題60分1980円」でご利用可能です！と回答を頂きました。

家族四人で飲むのは私だけ、、、しかしアルコールが飲める飲めないに関わらず同じ席全員が頼まなければいけません。 それを問い合わせで聞いたのにその事については一切触れられていませんでした。 まだそのメールを保存しています。

全員が頼むのが嫌なら単品で注文しろ、、と言う事ですが、生中が確かプレモルで800円代と高額です。 これはあまりにも納得いきません。 それならば飲む私だけ一人別のテーブルならいいんでしょうかね？！

今まで向かいの越乃湯や他のホテルのアルコール飲み放題は飲む人のみでOKだったので残念過ぎます。

あと、、、寿司に関してもカウンターのようにネタケースに入っていていかにも職人さんが握っています！的な感じですが、実は機械で作ったシャリに切ってあるネタを乗せるだけ、、

また、これはある意味失礼かもしれませんが、その寿司担当の方の腕の毛が超剛毛！　しかも服の丈が短いので肘から先半分以上が露出しており、清潔感が全くなく、寿司に混入しないか、、とか見ていて不快になりました。 せめて腕の毛を見せないようにするとか、他の方を使うべきだと感じました。 ※みんな「あの腕の毛ヤバい、、」とチラホラ聞こえてきます。

あとは部屋ですが、風？の音なのか夜中にずーっと猫の喧嘩のような「ファーー〜！フウワァーー！」と聞こえて気になってほとんど寝れません！

部屋の景色も温泉も良かったのにほんと残念で仕方ない、、、 ま、もう行...
