I stayed here once on a stopover to the Alpine route 3 years ago, and this is my second stay. Nothing much had changed, staff is still friendly, rental bath towels still cost 100 yen, and i stayed in the same female dormitory which was the same room as where I stayed 3 years ago. Shower room is rather big for Japan standards. The only annoying point was the automatic sensor light in the toilet/sink area on level 2 which doesnt seem to work very well (yes, same as 3 years ago lol). You have to keep moving every few seconds in order to let the sensor know there is still someone alive in the area lol. I saw a few reviews that complained about how you are not allowed to stay in the rooms in the day, and yup that is true, but it is quite common for Japan hostels/guesthouses as they need to clean the place, and if you are on holiday, its not unusual to get out in the morning till night to enjoy! :) If you had wanted to relax you wouldnt be staying in a guesthouse :) so i believe its quite reasonable. will recommend all budget travellers...
Read moreMy recent stay at this backpackers hostel was unfortunately not a pleasant experience, despite the very cheap price. One of the most immediate issues was the extremely low ceiling above the bed. It made the sleeping area feel cramped and uncomfortable, almost claustrophobic.Furthermore, I was quite surprised to be asked to bring my used bed sheets down to a basket in the lobby upon checkout. This is not a common practice in hostels I've stayed at, and it contributed to an overall feeling that the place wasn't as clean or well-maintained as it should be. The general cleanliness of the facilities also left much to be desired.Given these points, I cannot recommend this hostel to other travelers. While the low cost might be appealing, the discomfort and questionable hygiene standards outweigh any savings. Look elsewhere if you value comfort and...
Read moreIdeal location for the train station. The interior has seen better days with the walls of the stairs lined with scuff marks from the backpacks of countless weary travellers. Our private room had an en suite that you were not allowed to use and had been blocked off with a table. The lift houses lockers instead of running. The room was basic with enough space just about to get 3 very thin sleeping mats in and a small table. It was cold as the only heating in the building was a small heater in the communal area. There was access to a small kitchen but by the time you returned from being forced out of the building during the day the staff were using it for their meal preparation. The communal area was quite comfortable and gave a chance to talk with the few other travellers staying. The staff were courteous enough. An ok stay but a...
