Matsue Sushi — Restaurant in Nagano

This is why we travel to Japan. In a city with not too many eating highlights, at least around the station area, this place stands out. I think it was about the only sushi place I found in a sea of Izakayas.

They were full when I arrived but they squeezed me on the end of the bar. Excellent service.

The food is unbelievably good. Check out the photo and notice the size of the fatty tuna (right side). Extremely generous. Tempura was also excellent too.

They also serve Asahi on tap (my favourite).

If you need a change from Soba or Yakatori seek this place out. You might need a reservation if...

We found this place by accident when our usual vegan restaurant was closed, and it turned out to be such a great surprise! We asked if they had vegetarian options, and they not only said yes but served us some of the most delicious dishes. We had inari sushi, cheese fries, tempura, salad, and tofu dishes – everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully done.

The vibe was lovely too – cozy and warm, with a mix of traditional Japanese style and a modern touch. Really glad we decided to walk in, and I’d definitely come...

長野でお寿司ってちょっと意外☺️ 地元でお願いしたアルバイトの子におすすめされて訪問しました。長野駅の東口側にあり、目立つお店。 コースは量も多くてお腹いっぱい！味も美味しく、日本酒の種類も豊富で大満足でした。🍶 茶碗蒸しもついてきましたが、椎茸が苦手なのでツレにあげました。 長野に来たらまた寄りたい一軒です。

Shoe Sushi Higashiguchi in Nagano – sushi in Nagano felt a bit unexpected!☺️ A local part-timer recommended this place, located on the east side of Nagano Station. The course menu was generous and filling, with delicious flavors and a wide variety of sake. 🍶 It even came with chawanmushi, though I passed the shiitake to my companion since I’m not a fan. A spot I’d definitely return to on my next trip to Nagano!
