During our summer vacation, my family and I stayed at over seven hotels—ranging from high-end luxury to quick airport stops. But Toyoko Inn near Narita Airport honestly blew me away! By the way, clearly Toyoko Inn is a quick airport stop... I don't understand people that are giving low stars or bad reviews.... IT'S A CONVENIENT, CLEAN HOTEL THAT has a lot to offer for SHORT STAYS.
Here’s why Toyoko Inn was a standout:
Comfortable, air-conditioned shuttle to and from Narita Airport—clean, efficient, and stress-free.
FREE breakfast with surprisingly diverse options: curry rice 🍛, meatballs, toast, apple pastries, and more. Something for everyone!
Laundry room with washers and dryers that actually work! 🙌
Flight Information Display System in the lobby—super helpful for travelers with real-time updates on delays, cancellations, and gate info.
Affordable prices for such high-quality service and amenities.
Amenities include skin care set (facial cleanser, toner and face cream)
The staff was phenomenal—so kind, attentive, and genuinely happy to help. I witnessed one heartwarming moment when a little boy accidentally dropped his tray. Instead of frustration, the staff member smiled, gestured kindly for him to get another breakfast, and lightened the moment for both him and his mom. It was simple but so thoughtful—and it spoke volumes about their hospitality.
And let’s talk laundry—because if you’ve used washing machines in Japan, you’ll understand the struggle. Most dryers just don’t dry! But Toyoko Inn? The washer took only 30 minutes, and the dryer had both low and high settings. When the cycle ended, our clothes were done—no repeat drying needed. I nearly cried happy tears after successfully drying a jean dress in one go!
Toyoko Inn is efficient, welcoming, affordable, and full of thoughtful details that make traveling with a family so much easier. I was beyond impressed and would absolutely...
Read moreIt was Easter holiday during our stay and the hotel was extremely crowded. Self check-in was a headache, my name was rejected many times at the self-check-in kiosk and there was no staff to offer immediate assistance with the process execpt for a lady staff who yelled from the front desk at times with instructions. There is no first come first served concept, the lady staff quickly attended to phone calls and served other guests and left me stuck at the kiosk. An English speaking male staff finaly offered me assistance at the front desk but he soon attended to another guest who requested for non-smoking room and left me with a courteous 3rd lady staff who does not speak English but she struggled to help with a translator. They should deploy hotel staff to assist beside the kiosks and serve those guests who arrived first.
Rooms are compact, beds are super comfy though pillows are a bit hard. Rooms are very clean and with all you need for a comfortable stay.
Regular free shuttle buses run to and from the hotel and airport terminals with clear bus schedules and bus stop location available on the hotel website. There were long queues for the shuttle bus especially during the holidays but the buses capacity was huge.
Self-service coin laundry and dryer are available. There is is a 24-hour convenience store at the ground floor of the hotel Honkan but it is very small. It was extremely crowded during my visit and lane space between the shelves was narrow with most areas that could only fit in one person. Good to grab a bite late night though.
Free buffet style breakfast was ok, the breakfast venue was huge but super crowded and busy staff rushed to fill out the quickly emptied plates, they barely had time to clear the tables.
Overall great...

Shuttle Service
I selected this hotel based on Booking.com reviews, and the main reason was that it offers a hotel shuttle bus service to Terminals 1 and 2.
The shuttle service was excellent. The staff loaded my luggage onto the bus and also helped unload my hand-carry items. They were extremely polite and humble. The ride takes only 10 minutes.
Staff
Very friendly and polite – it's part of basic Japanese culture 🙂 Check-In and Check-Out Extremely efficient. There is a self-service machine for check-in and check-out. Just scan your passport, and the machine will issue your room key. I requested a window room and received one overlooking Narita Airport.
Room
The room size was standard for Japan. I had a double bed, which was very comfortable. The bathroom was equipped with an automatic bidet system (commonly used in Japan). If it’s your first time in Japan, it’s a good idea to learn how to use it.
Free Amenities
Green tea, chopsticks, toothpaste, and razors are available in the reception area. If you wish, you can also get free nightwear, with no limit on the number of pieces. Everything I needed was provided.
Breakfast
Breakfast was one of the highlights. I really enjoyed the Japanese-style breakfast. If you enjoy Japanese cuisine, you'll find it satisfying. For those who prefer a Western-style breakfast, there are also plenty of options available. I was a bit concerned about breakfast due to a few negative reviews, but for me, it was very enjoyable.
Location
The hotel is in a prime location and has both a new wing and an old wing. Next year, I’ll request a room in...
