After my experience here, all I can assume is that the staff here are burnt out by tourists.
I popped in for my last sushi experience before returning home. I was polite and in a good mood after two incredible weeks in Japan. However, the derision I was met with by two young chefs quickly changed that. I was mocked for my pronunciation of the dishes and asking if there was wasabi (the two "chefs" laughed between each other and kept repeating my pronunciation) and were so rude I left without finishing my drink and I cancelled my order. This is one of the best sushiya's I've eaten in. The fish is very fresh and delicious. The rice is perfectly seasoned and cooked. The sake is selected so you have a choice of sweetness levels, and yet it all goes very well with the sushi.
Even though it's a "stand up" (no seats) place, you can order food and drink and they will bring it to the community tables. It's actually in the Food Court at Terminal 3. Zero atmosphere, but an incredible meal served by true artisans who clearly love their work and enjoy feeding people.
