Terminal has dramatically went from a 1-star facility to a full 2-star facility. Piss-poor point #1 is there's no passenger drop-off or pickup point and the I'm still in the understanding that you have to walk there from terminal 2, or you can wait for a bus which is a step up. I remember when there used to be nothing but an on going construction hallway.
I will say terminal 3 has a nice food court but the reason for 2-stars is that no one else in the airport knows it exists. That was a positive and I'd recommend grabbing food there because the Family Mart sandwich machines behind security didn't work, only the overpriced drink machines with tiny Cafe Latte's instead of the normal sized ones. How rude 😔.
The security people couldn't get their act together and couldn't let the idiots who don't know how to go through metal detectors, like emptying your pockets or take your eyeglasses off through aetal detector so the congestion got to the point we had to complain to get another person to help some clueless lady managing that station. The problem was I had my wallet and valuable items open just sitting at the end of the scanner zone while I'm stuck behind clueless idiots that don't understand how metal detectors work. I even made a comment about that because all my valuables, which had a basket covering it inside the X-ray bin was pulled off and my valuables were just open for anyone to take. It was chaos and the contract company managing the security of terminal 3 were messy and are in dire need of restraining. They truly are nonsensical individuals and a liability. I would recommend carrying your valuables through the metal detectors because the chaos and poor management is perfect for an unwanted incident to occur.
It doesn't get better as you go through terminal 3 because the immigration line had 3 people, Japanese passport and nonresidents had machines that expedited immigration so the huge line went quickly while the non-japanese residents line was backed up and not moving . The immigration rep with the machines had no people and should've helped the long line of returning residents but didn't and unfortunately many of these 3rd world country's people are problematic and take longer than normal to process with only one immigration agent 😔.
They've definitely done some construction to make terminal 3 better but as previously mentioned, I was expecting to grab some food and drink after security but there was no convenient store and the family mart sandwich machines were not working, a long with the scammy drink choices. That's complete NONSENSE and favors dirtbag LCC companies like Jetstar who try to squeeze out any additional value they can from their customers. I vowed 15 years ago to never fly that company again but circumstances dictated for this last minute trip to Brisbane. But I digress because Jetstar is easy to trigger people with their gross nonsense.
Lastly, the elevator from the upper level to the ground level terminals where you catch a bus to the plane is worse than hospital and government elevators because of the speed and flow of the elevator. It's literally embarrassing but grateful for the smoking area next to the elevator on the upper level. That's one thing Japan airports...
Read moreI don’t typically gripe about Japanese facility because they are usually cleaner, brighter, safer, better than US counterparts. However terminal 3 seems like a make shift, not-finished building. Many hotel shuttles don’t have a stop there. We had to walk quite a bit to get to terminal 2 for transportation and to check in. Also the AC system is not centralized and not strong enough at times since the building appears to have a metal shell as a roof and sidings. Don’t misunderstand, I think this terminal is still cleaner and runs smoother than many of the US terminals. So this rating is only by comparison to other...
Read moreFrom the pokemon design to the aesthetic interiors, this is one of the most efficient @ convenient airports I’ve been to.
Though a bit new and few shops are only open, I appreciate the small details and how organized everything is.
My most fave part was the boarding gate which looked like a Google or ikea office! Every chair has a plug for charging phones & laptop.
It’s the first time that I want to wait a bit longer boarding haha. Even the washroom is always clean and all automatic (always advanced in Japan).
Hope to...
