I really wish to not write a negative review about a hotel but being travelling around Japan and this being our 5th stop and the experiences we had from the previous 4 hotels this hotel was the worst. Upon arriving we were told the car park was full even though there were more than 5 spaces available and we checked that it was a first in first serve basis. We arrived here early to ensure we could get a parking spot. We kept an open mind but after entering the room the room smelt like damp linen. The towels smelt quite funny. The room was clean and spacious but had an unpleasant smell. I also asked the reception desk if they had a travel adapter I could use as I only had 1 and required one for my laptop. Its the first time a hotel did not offer guests travel adapters which i think is a basic service to provide and something every other hotel had provided me world wide. Next was the noise levels. We could hear constant foot steps and banging noises from either the above level or room next door. Our room was also situated right outside the lift and we could hear every foot step and conversation when someone was waiting for the elevator or coming out. Unfortunately we booked for 2 nights and we were really regret it and even considered forfeiting our reservation for the 2nd night. It takes a lot for me to write a negative review but this hotel really didn't meet our standards especially in Japan. Location was good, room size was good. They were the only positives unfortunately. I'd be worried to even stay at another Toyoko Inn after...
Read moreEasy to get to and from the train station. Check in was quick and easy. We were able to store our luggage until check in. Wandered around the area to grab lunch and see the castle (very close by, just around the corner) while we waited until check in. Room is very large for Japan, normal by midrange hotels in the USA. Very clean with great air-conditioning. Apparently they are adding new air-conditioning in all the rooms and they are great! Desk and two chairs, plenty of light, great view, safe, and fridge. Lots of good food options nearby, including a edo-style building that has many small restaurants in it. A mall is attached to the train station with shops and more food. Several convenience stores nearby as well. Everything a traveler could need. Also water and ice machines in the lobby in case that is as important to you as it is important to my mother. (FYI Doesn't matter to me since I've visited other Asian countries, but sometimes the beds are hard. That is the case here. I'm used to it, but if that's a problem for...
Read moreThis Hotel is quite new and is 10 minutes from the train station, it is one of the most affordable hotels in that area. The location is not ideal but still reasonable, in case you would like to visit the castle, it is only 10 minutes’ walk away.||The rooms are not big but reasonably good with enough USB for charging phones and tablets. ||The breakfast is reasonable for a budget hotel, breakfast area will be very crowded in the morning, people coming and lining up, foods are refilled quickly, just 20 minutes later, most people finished and all back to normal. The breakfast area won’t close at night, in such, I can buy some take out and use the microwave there.||Outside the hotel, there are quite a lot of restaurants, 24-hours convenient stores a few minutes’ walk away, especially near the...
