THE VIEW 小田原 城の見えるホテル — Hotel in Odawara

Stayed 2 nights - used as a base for day trips to Hakone (Odawara is included in Hakone Freepass and it's 15 min train to Hakone-Yumoto). 5 min walk to Odawara train station. Pics on website are accurate - this is more like an AirBNB - very clean and new. Detergent provided for combo washer/dryer & there's a separate drying rack. Full size refrigerator, 3-burner stove top, grill. Front desk on-site during day only; front door locked at night. Access off-hours is thru side-door using individual code with smart lock. Room access worked same way. Be aware all instructions are in Japanese (no English translations) - we used Google translate to figure out how to operate appliances. Hot water needs to be turned on (switch panel on wall beside kitchen). Nice to have plenty of living...

We elected to stay in Odawara due to the high cost of the Hakone area – and are we glad we did! This place is a hidden gem! I was a little worried about sleeping on the futon mattresses on the floor but if you find it uncomfortable like we did, just stack a few on top of one another and you will have a nice nights sleep. The apartment itself was massive! Ours had two bedrooms, once again, quite big. The apartment was spotless, Smart TV, kitchen with full appliances and dishes, washer/dryer, bathroom, it had it all. I was a bit worried as reviews online mentioned that staff speak Japanese only, but this is not the case, they are very fluent in English. Short walk from Odawara station, lots of food options around the corner and a short bus or train into Hakone. 100% recommend...

Had a really really pleasant stay with my family of 4! It was clean, cosy, comfortable and spacious! The amenities in the room is very complete with washing machine (free), hobs, heater, cooking utensils, microwave, bath tub etc. It basically covered what we need during our stay. It is also very convenient, just around 10 mins walk from Odawara Station and many good restaurants. I always feel like going back to the room because it was just so welcoming! Definitely recommend people going to Odawara to consider The View...
