Excellent location being 3 mins walk away from JR station and local shopping amenities. Lawsons just outside hotel which is 24 hours so very convenient for anyone wanting late night munchies if the hotel restaurant is closed. We checked in rather late into hotel on our first day but Reception staff very helpful and made the process easy. They explained the procedure to us about room key and how to use the lift and also advised us of the free products available for guests, such as cleanser and moisturiser on Reception. Even gave us a discount voucher that we could use if we wanted to use the restaurant for breakfast. Cleaning of the room was exceptional and bedsheets, new towels were changed everyday during our 6 nights at hotel. Room facilities was okay, although you have to pay to view TV in your room. Washing facility on 4th floor of hotel which is 24 hours and a range of washing and drying option available. 700 yen for wash and dry for load up to 3kg, 600 yen for washing only of upto 6kg and 100 yen for drying load for 30 mins. Room facilities a little dated. Couldn't find enough power sockets to charge our devices such as mobiles and power bank. The usb socket on the middle consult worked bat seemed to be a very slow charge. Basic tea making facilities and water provided everyday in the fridge in the room. Overall functional for our stay. We had quite a few heavy bags and rather than lug them around with us around Japan, the hotel was able to arrange transport service for us. Staff were really helpful with paperwork to arrange luggage delivery to our next hotel in Osaka.. We had missed the cutoff deadline to transport luggage to Kansai airport but lady on Reception did the next best thing which was to get it shipped to our hotel in Osaka. This was done and delivered with 48 hours and we collected our luggage at our new hotel. The hotel charged 300 yen per item admin fee to process and you also pay cost for the delivery distance between two location. Really worthwhile service as taking many luggage on Tokyo's public transport system during rush hour is a daunting and scary experience. Overall, hotel staff and location top notch, just some of the room facilities seem a little dated compared to other hotels we have been to regarding...
Read moreHonestly, I unfortunately encountered a hotel staff who has the worst attitude ever met in my life. At first, I went to the hotel and try to leave my baggage before check in but since I thought this economy class hotel doesn't have enough luggage storage space and I found luggage lockers just inside of their hotel property, I tried to use this but I didn't have coins so I asked hotel lady hotel staff to make my bill to small coins for luggage lockers which doesn't accept bills and her answer was just to buy something from the bending machine to get coins despite I ain't thirsty.. I felt this hotel is something like lack of hospitality and no consideration to its guests, I immediately cancelled the online booking but they tried to charge me cancellation charge. To avoid cancellation charge, I called the hotel and asked NO MORE CANCELLATION,I AM GONNA CHECK IN SO DO NOT CHARGE ME THE CANCELLATION CHARGE, the female hotel stuff wasn't able to find my booking and just said YOUR CANCELLATION HAD BEEN MADE AND THE CHARGE WILL BE TO YOUR CREDIT CARD GIVEN UPON MAKING A RESERVATION AND WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING. (in other word, she tried to charge me double) I made a complain about her poor answer then she surprisingly hang up the phone! I directly went to the hotel to solve this. Japanese manager appeared then and told me you can check in without additional charges. No apology from her. I think the female hotel staff is very unprofessional, I don't know her nationality but her Japanese language skill is atroutious even English, she just hang up the phone and just escaped from her responsibility! I really wasted my time because of her lack of knowledge, lack of motivation to solve guests concern and lack of hospitality. FYI. The room is ok. Nothing...
Read moreHere are 16 things to compare with a hotel i stayed in TOKYO nights before with the SIMILAR RATE. This list shows what Shin-Imamiya ( SI ) lacks of in comparison. no carpet, SI uses cement floor and it cracks. the floor also causes cold feeling on feet doors are using metal keys instead of card keys no microwave oven no any dressing mirror ( the only mirror is the one in bathroom ) toilet seat has no washer nor heater ( toilet paper only ) SI provides only 1 mini desk no room heater ( it's rather cold to stay here in winter or post-winter ) amenities are offered in front and sold afterwards for 50JPY each ( not included in room beforehand, so don't miss it when offered ) dusty AC ( i'm not sure if this was a cooler or heater, coz i didn't dare to turn it on due to the dust ) when i tried to borrow cups ( of course SI didn't provide it in room ), they can only give me paper cups, not ceramic nor glass cups SI could also not give me spoon when i needed it, and offered me chopsticks ( single use wooden chopsticks ) in replace room smell like cigarette when i first came in towels are not white but grey and blue, and rather obsolete ( guess why they avoid using white ones ) noise from other rooms were clearly heard, including bathroom noise, chatters, and people walking down the aisle SI rooms don't have any wardrobe, instead they only provide 2 cloth hangers but hey . . . it's so close to the train station, just 20 meters away ( the Shin-Imamiya station ) remember that this list is compared to a hotel in Tokyo with similar rate, where in Osaka things ought...
