Easy all. Been living in this corner of nishinari for about 5 years and have ate here more times than I can remember. It’s a very local joint with a very reasonably priced 880yen ramen, small kimchi and fried rice set. Gritty interior, cheerful chefs if you want to try out some Japanese, usually baseball/sumo on TV and has that no nonsense quick service kind of feel which I really like. As for the food, the ramen is not too rich or too light and is a little oily but I don’t feel this affects the taste negatively. Anywho, let me tell you.. if you order the fried rice here, it is SUPER. The best one I have had in Japan and is not clumpy but more light and Nasi-goreng-esque. Packed full of flavour due to the in-house meat and vegetable mix they add to the rice. Go here; real deep Osaka vibes, decent ramen and a banging fried rice....

We had a small mishap ordering (in broken Japanese) but despite that, food was very tasty and we were able to take the extra food home in a plastic container.
Ramen was tasty, fatty, but well balanced. Noodles had a nice consistency and the bowl included chasu, menma, and green onions.
We ordered the set that comes with gyoza and a small fried rice side. We also ordered the chicken karaage. Fried rice was a star dish, super flavorful and with each grain of rice well cooked. Lots of umami taste. I think Uncle Roger would approve, lmao.
Prices are pretty good, the set was 1,300¥, the individual bowl was 800¥, 6pc karaage was 600¥, and...

I just saw this on Google Maps and wondered, "damn I'd really like some ramen right now". None of my co-travellers echoed the feeling, so I huffed over to this place. Waiting in line, being the only foreigner, I felt a bit intimidated. I had never ordered in a Japanese restaurant in Japan by myself. This dissipated when I was asked to sit. There is an English menu and English speaking staff. In fact the proprietor knows Japanese, English, and Chinese. I think I ordered the pork ramen. It was the perfect compliment to the first night in Japan. I went home a...
