We stayed near Dobutsuen-mae Station during our recent trip to Osaka, and overall, it was a very convenient location—especially as we were traveling with a stroller and small children.
The station is connected to both the Midosuji Line and Sakaisuji Line, making it easy to get to major attractions like Namba, Umeda, and Tennoji. Despite being an older station, we were pleasantly surprised by how stroller-friendly it was.
There are two elevators at the North 1 exit area—one near the Mega Don Quijote (great for quick shopping) and another closer to the Tennoji Zoo exit. Both elevators made it manageable to move around without needing to carry the stroller up or down stairs. Signage is not the clearest, so you may need to look around a bit, but once you find the elevators, everything gets much easier.What surprised us was the zoo-themed decorations near the Tennoji Zoo gate area. There’s a mini rest and play area just outside the station with cute animal characters and benches—perfect for kids to stretch their legs or have a quick snack before continuing the day.
