Asahi Theater — Attraction in Osaka

We had a great time watching the Japanese traditional play at Sensekai Asahi Theater! This theater was opened in 1910 as "Kansai Shinpa Theater" and was renovated in 1977 popular playhouse theater for performing arts, traditional plays, musical and different repertoires to offer for locals and tourists alike!

We were able to watch a set of plays and interpretations of traditional Japanese songs! Though there was no translation during the play, the performances were riveting and the passion of the actors are so compelling that you are drawn to their characters regardless of the language barrier! It was an excellent show and I hope you can get a chance to watch the show if you're in Osaka! Please note that taking photos or videos is highly prohibited during the play but you can get a picture with the actors after the show.

The theater is not that big, it has only 200 or 300 seats where you can get close to the actors! The crowds are generally from the late twenties to senior age range but it would be nice to introduce this kind of play to younger Japanese enthusiasts that love performing with passion in acting and arts! The ticket price is really reasonable for the two sets of play that comes with it! Definitely, one of the authentic Japanese traditional cultures you want to put on your bucket list while in Osaka! Please note that taking pictures or videos is highly prohibited during the play but you can take pictures with the actors after the show.

📆2025-7月下旬 大衆演劇が大好きなので、大阪でもおひとり様観劇🎵

朝日劇場さんには、10年ぶりにお邪魔しました。なんと10年前も、そして一昨年、博多でも、【都劇団】💕 座長【都　若丸】さんやお父様（初代の座長）やお母様も出演。

また、今回は早めに予約したから前から4列目のよく見える席で、しかもお隣には、劇団で一番若手の【都　元気】さんのご両親が座ってらして、劇団のメンバーのお名前を教えていただいたりしながら、楽しく鑑賞できました。 大衆演劇、妖艶で、面白く、楽しい🎵 大阪がメイン活動の都劇団さん。 博多や横浜でもご活躍されてます。 今回も素晴らしいステージでした。 ありがとうございます🙇‍♀️
