Stay here for three nights in September 2016. Great location. Just one minute away from east exit of Shin Osaka station. So convenient. There is also an elevator at the station exit for people with luggage. From Shin Osaka, there is a direct subway line to Namba, and it is just one station away from Osaka where you can take the Osaka loop line to get around the city. Getting to Tokyo is easy with 20 minutes ride on Shinkansen. There is a mini-mart (Family Mart) right next to the hotel entrance. Hotel staff is fine. They let me check-in when I arrived there 4 hrs earlier than the check-in time which was so impressive. I booked the non-smoking semi-double room. The room is small (like any other hotels within this price range) and dated, but very clean and has got everything I need. Air conditioner worked fine. Bathroom was clean. Shower gel, shampoo, and hair conditioner were provided. The bed was good enough to just fit two people. Only one little unpleasant thing I noticed was some faded odor of the cigarette, even I was in the non-smoking room. The air refresher spray given in the room was very helpful. Just turn on the air-con, use the spray, then it would be OK. I did not try the breakfast, so no comment on this. Gave it a four on the rating mainly because of the location. Will definitely put this hotel in the list again for my next visit to Osaka. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to stay very close to the train station and plan to spend the whole day getting...
Read moreWe recently stayed here for 4N. Shin-Osaka has always been our favourite spot when we travel yearly to Osaka because of its transport accessibility. And staying nearby is best for optimising our travel time!||Upon exiting from JR station keep to the left and the extreme end look for East exit. Can take the elevator to get down to the ground level. Walked across to the opposite side of the street. You see Family Mart and you will see walkway nearby to the back door of the hotel.(there’s a sign)||Great location, very convenient The hotel is a bit old and mid-sized type. We were glad as they let us check-in is at 2pm, slightly earlier. The room is comparable with similar range hotel nearby. ||Just nice to accommodate our large luggage (a 24” and another 27”). Other facilities in the room are OK, just that they do not provide tea or coffee in the room you can take mixed tea packets at front desk. We did not manage to get NO smoking semi-double room but surprisingly it does not “smell”. NO cabinet. Air conditioner and Wifi are good, important to us.. The bed was good enough to just fit two people. We were off the whole day for Day trips to Nara, Wakayama so its ok.||The bf looks value-for money, only 800Yen with 20 over items buffet but we did not try. There are nearby café ||We recommend a...
Read moreI first visited here in 2010, and it was my first experience of hotel life in Japan. The room I had was small, but average size by Japanese standards. Even in 2010 the room was well equiped, Digital TV, WiFi, fridge and well stocked bathroom. I have since returned to Hotel Shin Osaka three more times, once in 2012 and twice in 2014. The location and convenience sees me return again and again. Only across the road from the areas main Shinkansen Terminal, 15 minutes from Kyoto and 5 minutes from Osaka (via appropriate trains) and surrounded by great restaurants, there is nothing more you could ask for from this area in a place to stay.||There are larger rooms in the hotel, and if you are travelling with your family, be sure to get the larger twin room. At what appears to be twice the size of the original room I stayed in, this room contains two single beds and plenty of room space for trundles or cribs.||Photographers can also grab great photos of the shinkansen coming into the ShinOsaka terminal from the fire escape at the end of...
