Hey fellow travellers, ||Honesty is one of the biggest deals when it comes to travelling for me. And I can see this with quite a lot of like-minded Trip Advisor contributors too. Thanks for taking time to give really detailed and good tips. So here I go with this one... ||If you are used to two- to four-star hotels, please avoid this one at ALL costs. For lack of better words, it was a nightmare. Literally. ||There was an awful pee stench lingering in the toilet. Explained it to the front desk guy, he shrugged shoulders and offered us a fragrance spray to get rid of the smell. He did eventually offer to spray it for us but the stench was back 30 minutes later. ||Weekly Green promised four beds but didn't specify that 1 was a sofa bed. The room was unclean. I know this because I have an allergy to dust mites so imagine me breaking out in hives after 3 hours there. There were 4 of us in total so we tried to think maybe, it's just the stress of travel but we couldn't stay another hour so went out for dinner outside to take a breather before getting back later. ||We were also informed that we must dispose our own trash, clean the rooms and that everything would cost extra, including basic items like a towel. The bedspreads were deplorable and it felt like the room had not been aired for months with a musky mouldy smell to top it all off. We tried our best to stay 1 night to see if we could make it work but when we found a dead bug on the wall and 1 of us had weird nightmares waking up at 3am, we decided to call it quits. There were some strange noises too throughout the night where we heard slamming doors and thumping on floors. ||When we finally asked to leave the next day, I had tried to reason really courteously that there is an issue with the room and hope that they could give us back some of the money we paid in full (a hefty 115,000.00 Yen by the way!). Quite a shocker when the boss lady made a stinker, stomped around and only sent us off with $50,000.00 Yen of that money and even informed us that if we wanted more, I should go to a hospital and get a doctor's letter to prove how bad we have been affected. ||This was in spite of showing them how the hives and that the toilet was too smelly for words. In fact, we had to shut the doors so the stench wouldn't come out to the living/sleeping area. It felt like a squatter... disappointing. The young man at the front desk was really nice and he tried to mitigate politely between the language barrier with some English between us. ||Not trying to be rude but maybe, for those who enjoy a rustic backpackers' inn or don't mind a run-down hotel may find this "excellent"? I really cannot tell from the Booking.com reviews which my Dad had found at that time. He would've been impressed by these when he booked it. And, we were sadly ill-informed. There were some noises too throughout the night of slamming doors and thumping floors. So for us, it is a big zero on Weekly Green Inn. No rating and just terrible. No, we don't ever want to go back and I am sharing this so others may be a little more aware of such places. It is not a Service Apartment or Residence. Don't be fooled. ||Consolation: We ended up paying lesser to stay at a decent hotel for the...

Read moreWe stayed here for total of 9 nights, booked 7 nights via online booking site. We needed to check in late (11 PM) the 1st night and store our luggage at the hotel then stay in Arima for one night (second night) and back to Osaka and stay there for the rest of the trip. I have exchanged tons of emails with them to have this arranged given their min. per stay is 6 nights+. Turned out that we had a smooth late check in (picked up key from a lock box with PIN code provided), stayed the 1st night, then they actually allow us to leave our stuff in the same room the 2nd night while we are in Arima for FREE, what a present surprise I must say. Thank you. On top of all this, they also allowed me to book a single room for 3 nights separately for a friend, as well , my brother who I referred him to this hotel, has booked a single room for 6 nights to meet up with us, they managed to arrange all 3 rooms (2 x single and 1 x Quad) on the same floor beside each other ! Thank you again. ||||Location wise , it is one station from Namba by subway, without luggage, by using exit 2 at Daikokuchō station, it's like a 2 mins walk and along the way there is a 24 hr grocery store (great for the nightly beers) and a second grocery store that opens until 1 am, plus a 7-11 is also around the corner. (with luggage, use exit 6 which has elevator).||||The room itself doesn't seem as big as the pictures found online but it's definitely huge relative to any hotel rooms in Japan. The toilet bowl and shower are in separate rooms. Love the heat toilet seat :) . It is a very basic room without any nice deco etc but very clean and functional. The 4th bed is actually just a sofa bed with the futon that slides everywhere when my daughter slept on it. Love the fact that there is a dinning table and microwave in the kitchen. There are coin washers and dryers on the top floor, very handy, need to purchase washing powder from the front desk. The dryer however took very long to dry one load of clothing, so after a couple of drying cycles, we ended up taking them out and just lay the wet and semi-dry ones out on the dinning table and the beds :)||||Overall, I am very happy that I found Weekly Green, if I have to be picky , I would say I wanted one more pillow, an actual 4th bed, a slightly bigger toilet and a bigger trash can,...
