Love this place. A small lodging with friendly staff. Prime location, between Rusutsu Resort and Westin Hotel. ||We got the bus from Sapporo New Chitose (must book bus online). The bus stopped at the Rusutsu Resort carpark and it’s a 2 minutes walk to Rusutsu Lodges (you can asked them to pick you up, dragging suitcases across when it’s snowing is no fun). ||We stayed in East Wing, with traditional Japanese bedroom and small kitchen and private bathroom/toilet - enough for a family of 3. ||Breakfast wasn’t included in our booking, but no need to worry, Seicomart and 7/11 convenient stores were very close to Rusutsu Lodges. We bought plenty of ready made food from there and heat them up in our little kitchen. ||We had lunch at the cafe in Rusutsu Lodges, nice food and the staff all very friendly (in the main building, opposite the reception area)||We opted for this lodge because it’s small, more personal with friendly owner and staff. A self contained accommodation in a prime location. ||Around the lodge:|There’s a rental shop near Seicomart, you got 10% off if you stayed at Rusutsu Lodges. |We rented gloves, goggles, a sledge and ski suit for snow activities: Dog sledging held at Westin and Snowboard school at Rusutsu Resort. ||We bought cream puffs at Rusutsu Resort, delicious! Must try the new onsen Kotobuki No-Yu at the Vale Rusutsu (Rusutsu Resort - North wing, 6th floor) - amazing!!! (Pay at the reception). ||Walk 5 minutes and you’ll find Wakasaimo confectionary shop, you’ll wanna buy everything from there. The East Village restaurant (in the same building) looked inviting but was shut when...
Read moreWe stayed for 5 nights and had a terrific stay. A big thank you to Kaori and the team for looking after us so well.||||Location||Excellent. Several minutes walk to the Rusutsu Resort where the lifts and Gondola commence from, very easy walk, but we walked over in our regular shoes then changed into ski boots as there was ample storage. Two convenience stores right next door, plus a couple of bars/restaurants also next door. We also used the resort public bath several times, which was great for a post ski soak.||||Food||Also excellent, breakfast was included each morning and chef Guilio went out of his way to accomodate the vegetarians in our group. We dined in the in house restaurant one evening and were treated to the most divine Shabu Shabu meal. Highly recommend! Guilio’s culinary delights were a most welcomed ‘hidden gem’ surprise.||||Room||We had a relatively spacious triple room facing the mountain, when it wasnt bucketing with snow the view was great. Only suggestion is the room needs more hooks & hangers & somewhere to store large luggage. The rooms and bathroom facilities were immaculately clean. Beds were firm, in the Japanese way but were...
