This is our first time to visit Tokyo. We have been to Sapporo, Osaka, Fukuoka before. And I swear this hotel in Tokyo is the worst ever in Japan. The experience here was a nightmare and disappointed.
Staff here barely speak English and understand English. We called to front desk and asked for house keeping to be done at 1300 since we are going out late. The guy who picked up the phone interpret our request as late check out and start to explain.
On the night of check-in, we asked front desk whether they provided extra pillow or not. The lady simply replied "Sorry, we do not have". Though it is very strange that as a hotel they do not provide extra pillow for guest but we just don not want to argue with her. The next day we approached another lady and asked again. Guess what? She said they can provided to us and asked which type do we want. So what's the point of saying no at the first night?
We asked for bottled water since the house keeping lady did not provided to us on the 3rd day. The front desk lady replied "Sorry, because you choose to have the full house keeping, we are unable to give you water, that is the HOTEL POLICY". This is the first time ever I have heard a hotel declining guest using this kind of reason. But it is not over yet. The next day we choose to have the full house keeping again, and at night when we returned to our room, we saw 2 new bottled water placed in out room. How consistent it is.
The night before we check out. We asked the front desk guy about the transport to airport. Guess what did he do? He use his phone to showed us to Google map transport recommendation. Seriously? Google map? You think we do not know hot to use Google map to search? How professional their staff are.
The restaurant that provided breakfast is a totally scam. 1200 yen per people and they provided limited choices for guest. Plates are almost empty every time when we are trying to get some food. Choices are limited and no service are provided at all. I would say even you go to Family mart or Lawson you can get much better food there.
All in all, the staff there are weak in customer service and language. No skills in interacting with guests and service guidelines are inconsistent. I would not recommend anyone to booked this hotel at all and no matter how, we will...
Read moreThe hotel is sort of hidden in a street, so really have to look at the signboard on the building then can find the hotel. it's about 8 min walk to the East entrance of Ikebukuro where Seibu and Loft are. ||||Room itself is comfortable. not very big space, but i find it comfortable for one person. 2 people, i find it abit squeezy. it does not have a closet, just hangers. It has a humidifier. Room is of yellow light, no white light. Wi-fi is also available. The only thing i find the room, seems to have dust particles. The first room i checked in was very dusty. The remote control and the tables and shelves were full of dust. After a while my nose got a little sensitive and i requested for a room change which was much better. But i'm not sure because if it's because there's a carpet in there or some allergens, at about 10pm nightly, i started to have allergy reaction (which i prepared medication) so after taken it, and slept with mask on my face, felt better. || ||Amenities - They provide shampoo, conditioner, body gel, toothbrush, comb, body sponge, tub tablet, razor, towels.....||||Generally is ok. There were alot of people staying at this hotel. but for me, i don't think i will return again, 1) of course there's allergen and not suitable for me. 2) though it's a short distance to East entrance, but i feel that after shopping a day, and carrying all the shopping bags and to walk that distance is a little tiring for me. 3) a couple of times if i want to buy bento from the nearby family mart or 7-11, most of the items are sold out. 2) it's about 10 min walking distance from sunshine prince hotel (with slopes and bumpy road) if you are taking the limousine...
