The hotel staff was very helpful and allowed us to check in early for a reasonable fee. The hotel is older, but has a lot of charm. It's located a short walk from Ikebukuro Station. Very easy to get there from Haneda Airport with the airport bus!
Our room had more amenities than we expected and they offer daily cleaning for those who wishes.
The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom had a small bathtub, shower and japanese washlet. We got free schampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbrushes, combs and razors. You could charge your phone from an USB-outlet on the bed frame, very convenient. The room is small, but we had lots of room since we travel light.
Beside the bed there is a small sofa and a table. Perfect for eating a small meal! There is also a small fridge and water kettle.
They offer coffee 24 hours in the "breakfast room". There is also a free, small, breakfast buffet of bread, yoghurt and salad daily.
I read that some think the neighbourhood feels unsafe at night. The hotel is located in an area with a lot of "Girls bars" but I never felt unsafe walking home at night. You could hear people partying, walking home drunk and laughing lying in the bed some nights, but it really didn't bother us. The area felt alive and we really appreciated how close it was to several convenience stores, bars, restaurants and metro station!
When we come back to Tokyo, we would love to stay there again! Ikebukuro is a great base for exploring the city! And for the price we paid we really can't complain at all, we were...
Read moreWe stayed two nights here, finding it to be a reasonable base for exploring Tokyo. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from exit C6 of Ikebukuro station, through some narrow lanes lined with bars and nightlife. Despite reservations others have expressed, we had no issues and felt perfectly safe.||Our second floor room was on a corner, making for a slightly unusual shape, but it was well fitted out, even if it seemed a little gloomy (the 'windows' were more for decoration than use). That said, it was very quiet; we heard no outside noise.||Breakfast was included, consisting of thick sliced white bread for toasting (with various jams and butter), a couple of yoghurt options, decent tea & coffee from a machine and - the piece de resistance - small tubs of chopped salad. I don't think I'd ever have sat down and designed that particular assemblage, but it seemed to work.||The staff were cheerful and extremely pleasant when we dealt with them.||I don't know that we'd necessarily stay here again, but it's a reasonable option if you're...
Read moreWe stayed 9 nights in this hotel, room 906. All the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, I'd like to mention Tamaki and his other colleague (I don't know the name unfortunately) for their outstanding work.
From the moment we stepped the hotel room was always clean and tidy. There was a lovely lady I sometimes catch after breakfast.
The breakfast was enough for us. We would find toasts with different jam, a coffee machine, orange juice and a fridge with yoghurts, salads and butter. There is also an ice machine if you want a ice coffee.
The location of the hotel is very convenient. Ikebukuro station is massive and connects different subway lines. The station is only few minutes away (walking) from the hotel.
It is worth mention that there is a 24H drug store named "Seims". Also, there is a 7 eleven around the corner too.
I highly recommend staying...
