Okay before I start reviewing, I’m so sorry it took me so long to give a review to this hotel, as I stayed on mid until late March (13 nights in total), when I was given the best service. I just kinda feel bad. Gomen ne 🙇♀️
inhale This hotel was hands down one of the best hotel in Tokyo! As it was my first time ever to travel abroad, I did have the best experience in this hotel. The hospitality was superb, the staff were friendly too though they had a little trouble with English or maybe my English wasn’t good enough for them to understand, I don’t know, but overall it was no problem. In fact, their English was pretty good! The cleaning service was amazing, I was amazed how they worked so fast and kept our room looked so sparkly clean afterward, and they’re very kind as well, I was so touched by their work ethics 🥺. The location WAS excellent, it was so close with many tourist spots such as Halal Wagyu Yakiniku PANGA, Ayam-Ya Halal Ramen, Masjid Assalam Okachimachi approximately 350m (if you are a muslim traveller, which is like me 😁, you must give them a visit), near Akihabara (it just needs one stop by using Tsukiba Express), Ueno Park, Donkihote Ueno (Don Quijote), Ameya Yokocho Market, Yamashiroya, Life Supermarket approximately 350m, and most importantly it was so close to Shin-Okachimachi subway station for approximately 650m by walking! Also, you can use the microwave, have an igloo-like ice cubes, take a bunch of Japan/Tokyo/Mt. Fuji guide brochures and flyers, use a vending machine, a laundry service (the hotel provides laundry detergent. Each for ¥50), and abundant amenities provided in the lobby!Last but not least, you can have a Tokyo Skytree view in your room on certain floors but from my experience you can have it on 11th floor. Sorry if this is off topic but my okasan really loved the aromatherapy scent in the lobby, and would like to ask what kind of scents the hotel use? Because its smell was so relaxing and calming ☺️💖🌸
Maybe, that’s all for now..
Phew, my experience was actually indescribable, you gotta try it for yourself. My okasan, oneechan and I felt so astonished that HVF Okachimachi Ueno has a special place in our hearts, haha ik it sounds so extra but it is what it is 🙂. Our experience was worth every penny even penny doesn’t compare to the hotel service at this point 😂 I’m definitely looking forward to this hotel for the next trip to Tokyo, of course after the SARS2’s gone!
Arigato gozaimashita for the hotel crew! Stay healthy, happy, and safe! 🙏💙💙💙 #stayhome...
Read moreI spent 8 nights in this hotel, a room for 2 for around 1.3k SGD, and my stay was amazing. The staff here were all smiles and they provide free wifi, daily room cleaning service, along with a daily free breakfast buffet, with a pretty generous selection of food and a cool toaster. The room was always cleaned daily unless requested not to and had all the amenities that were needed.
They were kind enough to lend us a vaccum and clothing iron to pack our stuff into a vaccum sealed bag. The room was decently sized, as it had enough space for 2 carry-on luggage. The bathroom was bigger than most other hotels in Tokyo and even had a bathtub that fit both me and my girlfriend.(granted we're both pretty small sized, 155cm). The hotel staffs were able to speak a little bit of English and did all they could with any of our enquiries.
For a long stay, there are coin washing machines and dryers for 200 and 100 yen respectively. Detergent are sold separately at the front desk for 50 yen and they provide dry cleaning services as well(front desk).
The hotel was also a 5 minutes walk away to tje nearest station, Shin-Okachimachi station, which was very convenient as it was just a station away from the main tokyo transport line, JR Yamanote line. Another option for travel is a 13 minutes walk to the Okachimachi station, which is already on the JR yamanote line. The hotel was also situated near multiple convenient stores which allows for a late night snack if necessary.
Overall, my stay in this hotel was pleasant and I would...
Read moreMy first time in Japan and I am glad I stayed here. The staff are impeccable, their attentiveness is brilliant and they did loads to help out, including posting my pocket WiFi unit back and writing "shojin ryon" in Japanese out for me (it means temple food, or diet, very helpful if you are vegan). They also have a card with the address and a small map on it so if you get a cab you can just show the driver that.
The hotel itself is very nice, super clean and just 8 minutes walk from the yamemote (jr) line (this is the line that if you are visiting sights will be your beat friend) the hotel has Wi-Fi and both the standard 2 pin and 3 pin japan/usa plugs. Our room had a nice view and telly, phone, desk, safe, mini fridge, bath/shower and ethernet socket. The complimentary breakfast was an unusual thing, as well as the European style pastries and cereal there was salad, soups and rice curry on offer. These are things I as a westerner didn't think of as a breakfast thing but they seemed very popular. The breakfast is a buffet affair and it gives you a chance to meet some of the other guests. There are also vending machines just beside the main lobby area.
The things that stand out as the most memorable are the staff and their helpfulness, the blade runner esq roof (it has more than a passing nod at J F Sebastian's place) and the incredibly high professional standards they deliver. I want to go back to Tokyo as soon as possible, and I'd stay at the Villa Fontaine Ueno without...
