This hotel has some good things going for it - desk staff were pleasant and helpful, the cramped lobby area is filled with free offerings ranging from alcohol, soft drinks, small snacks, desserts and many other amenities. Some not so good things are that our room was dark and cramped and looked like it hadn’t been dusted in a long while. The only window in the room was covered with a 55” TV. The mattress was thin and the bottom sheet barely covered the plastic sheet underneath it. Sleeping at night was difficult. The walls of the room were thin so people in the hall during the night could be heard. As well, the location of the hotel is in an area with many small restaurants and on a Saturday night the area was busy with the noise from sirens. If you’re accustomed to having to use your key card to access the elevator, as in most good hotels, there’s no such thing at the Petit Bali Forest. This means that anyone off the street can gain access to your floor and possibly your room which doesn’t help one feel at ease leaving during the day. The most disturbing thing about this hotel is that they display 2 prices on a small table at the lobby entrance; one for “Stay” and one for “Rest”. This explains why many Japanese guests refer to the Petit Bali Forest as a “Love Hotel”. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend...
Read moreIdk why this hotel has mediocre ratings, it deserves so much more!! So it's definitely a love hotel and the rooms are definitely small, but for a solo traveler who likes to go out /nightlife etc it's really a perfect spot. The love hotel aspect is pretty fun, it's entertaining to see all the couples waiting for a room at all hours of day and night lol. The hotel itself is adorable, no aspect is overlooked when it comes to the Bali themeing! The amenities are incredible, the 24/7 open bar in the lobby alone is worth the 5 stars! Lobby also has every toiletry you could think of and more. The room though small has absolutely everything you could need in it and the bed is really soft and comfortable, more so than other Tokyo hotels I've stayed at. The location is unbeatable, literally right next to Shinjuku Sanchōme station and in the heart of Shinjuku area. The employees are also super nice!! I loved this place and will absolutely stay there again next time...
Read moreThe theme of this hotel is just fantastic, even in a small room it's still so beautiful with the Bali theme and drapes around the bed. The amenities provided by the hotel were absolutely excellent; anything you could need or want they have it downstairs or you can ask them for it! The open bar in the afternoon / evening was a great touch too. Location is perfect for excellent izakayas, restaurants and shops and is close to several subway stations. My only criticism is that the 2 private baths on the fourth floor don't have usage times, so you have to keep an eye out if it's free and then scramble down to try and get in. I do really think some guests took advantage of this service and stayed in there for hours (and we all know you shouldn't spend much longer than 15 mins in a hot tub / Onsen....!) so my recommendation would be to put a 15-20 min usage time on the baths in the interest...
