I hate to have to write this. The room was excellent--comfortable and clean. But when I checked out in the morning, I asked the desk to call a taxi for me. (I had to hurry to the station to get to the airport.) The response, "We don't call taxis for guests." (I had not used the taxi app on my phone, knowing that hotel usually know the quickest cab company.) I ran outside to the street and finally was able to flag one down.
The evening before I needed a pair of scissors to finish some work I was doing. I ask to borrow a pair for a few minutes. Nope. I would have to bring my (unwieldy) by work down to the desk to use them. The (very polite) staff members were just enforcing company rules. I know it's not their fault.
Also, the breakfast buffet used to be one of Super Hotel's attractive features. I found out that now it is no longer automatically included. No indication on the reservation app that breakfast is not included. Free (organic, locally sourced) breakfast was such a part of the Super Hotel brand that is like McDonald's no longer selling hamburgers.
Anyway, I am monumentally disappointed. I particularly can't imagine how a company can instruct its employees to look a rushed, luggage-laden customer in the face and tell them, "No, I will NOT call...
Read moreMy group of 5 booked 3 rooms here January 12-14th. We had arrived at Haneda earlier that day and took the Tokyo Monorail from the airport directly to the Hamamatsuchō Station. Super Hotel Hamamatsuchō is only a few blocks from the station, and it was about a 5-7 minute walk. The check-in was very easy and the staff was helpful and lovely! The rooms are cozy and include the kettles, coffee and tea, and precise heating/cooling climate control along with soaking tubs. The beds will include some basic pillows but one awesome feature of this hotel is the selection of sealed pillows you can use for specific needs! You can find these in the lobby along with free room amenities such as toothbrushes, razors, bath salts, etc. They also have a daily happy hour with a complimentary choice from a range of non-alcoholic and adult beverages. The washer/dryers are also very handy. Since it was our first morning there and we flew from the US, we were of course up at 5am so thankfully there were many 24-hr convenience store options nearby. :D We had a fantastic stay and look forward...
Read moreChecked into room 311 and the bathroom door fell off its hinge. They fixed it right away and then the bathroom floor was flooded after the bath water was released. The shower curtain smelled bad. There were noises and cigarette smoke from the street below past midnight. Because I was staying there more than a week, I asked and was moved to a smaller room on the ninth floor the next day. The shower curtain smelled bad again. In addition to the cigarette smoke, now there are smells from the clothes drying machine. Closing the window and turning on the air conditioner was not possible because the air from the A/C smelled bad. There must be a room in the hotel that doesn’t have these problems, but I would not take a chance again in the future. If you are a person who has breathing problems, I suggest staying somewhere else. The hotel is within a short walking distance to Hamamatsucho Station which is on the Yamanote line and the end stop for the monorail going to...
