We were looking for a central location since we weren't staying in Tokyo very long and wanted to maximize our time.
We decided on Hamamatsuchō since it's on the Yamanote train line and and is about 15-30 minutes from Haneda Airport. This hotel is a 5 minute walk from the train station.
Make sure you take the North Exit out of the train station.
Once you exit keep walking straight down and after a couple of blocks, you'll take a right and as you walk you'll see the Mystays sign. It's a small business hotel and the hallways to the rooms are outdoors. The only reason I mention this is because one night it was raining really hard and it was windy; we got kind of wet as we walked to our room from the elevator.
This staff spoke English and were nice. Other than checking in and out, we didn't really interact with the staff since we didn't have our room cleaned. The room was small of course but clean; it's a good thing we didn't have suitcases. There's a small closet and fridge for snacks. The bed was very firm and the room temperature is controlled by the hotel. There is wifi and the hotel has pocket wifi to rent if you need it.
It's close to a bunch of places to eat and several convenience stores. Tokyo Tower is about a 10-15 minute walk downwind how fast you walk,
The hotel also let us leave our bags at the front desk on the last day after we checked out, since we weren't leaving until evening time and still wanted to wander around.
We would definitely stay here again since it was a decent price and...
Read moreStayed for 7 nights for recent August trip, first timer. Location was alright but seems their housekeeping was not that good. Carpet was dirty, found some fingernails hanging around for days since the day we checked in. Have to observe for days and still nothing was done. No choice but to approach front desk on the 4th night to remind them to vacuum the room! On the 5th night, my husband was unable to access the room when we returned after a long day. (I was at the nearby FamilyMart waiting) Their local male staff wanted to issue new access card to my husband but he told the staff will need 2 cards as I am holding the 2nd card. So my husband politely rejected the new card. By the next 1hr or so,when we return to our room, my card was also rejected and when we checked that with the same staff,he adamantly said already given new card to my husband even though he did not! This simply puts us off completely. If you are doing reception, remember what you did and did not, especially it was only within 2hrs. So unprofessional, accusing guests like this. WILL NEVER CONSIDER STAYING THERE...
Read moreWe stayed there for about a week. The hotel staff is very nice and friendly. There are extra toiletries items and a coffee machine on the first floor lobby. When you go up, all the walkways to the rooms were outside like apartments style. The room we got had a safe, a mini-fridge, a small TV, two glasses and two tea cups, tea bags and a water boiler. There's also a humidifier that you can use if you fill it up. The lights to the bathroom was on the outside so it was a little annoying if you're sharing the room with some and they have to use it at night. There's provided toothbrush and toothpaste that they refill every night if it's gone. There are cups you can use as well to rinse out your mouth. The tub is very high so you can take baths. I really liked their shower knobs. One is for temperature and one is for shower head or tub. The bed personally for me was a bit too firm. There's a memory foam pillow and a regular pillow. The room itself was a bit cramed, but it's Tokyo and we were out most of the days so I didn't mind. Overall, my stay was very nice and I would...
