We had our best time in Kinosaki onsen during this trip to Japan because of the warm hospitality we received from all staff in Kobayashiya. We arrived early instead of 3PM check-in time and they still host us while allowing us to go public onsen a bit earlier so we get to try different onsen facilities in town. We were very lucky to be able to book the famous crab dinner which was beyond our imagination. Each of us had 2 & 1/4 fresh crabs throughout the course including crab sashimi, boiled crab, crab hotpot, and crab meat porridge. For the hotel amenity, you can use unlimited in-house onsen if you prefer to have some privacy with just you and your families. The stores in town are all open late for the tourist so we can still shop around meanwhile taking many beautiful 🌸 blossom pictures at night. Overall, a very pleasant trip to this place and extremely blessed to choose Kobayashiya as our onsen hotel. We will definitely come back again and highly recommend to everyone who plans to visit Kinosaki onsen(城崎溫泉)

P.S. Special thanks to Abby from Kobayashiya for being our main host throughout the stay and we really appreciate your warm welcome and assistance. Thank...

Wow! Hold on, I can do it better. WOW!!! Okay, that’s a good start. My wife and I stayed two amazing nights at the Kobayashiya and we were blown away. The location is phenomenal. Looking to hit all of the mystic onsens? You’re dead center. Want to eat at the fantastic restaurants? Dead center. Want to enjoy any of Kinosaki’s lovely attractions? Yup… you’re right there. The service is unmatched. Every single human. EVERY SINGLE HUMAN, that we interacted with was pleasant, helpful, proactive, appreciative, and knowledgeable. (For reference, my Japanese is extremely limited.) This place deserves several more pages of glowing review, but I’m going to hit you with a few highlights and wrap it up. We had a series of wonderful meals. Delicious. Variant. Thoughtful. The private onsens. Clean. Intimate. Beautiful. Accessible. The decor. Gorgeous. Refined. Elegant. Comforting The rooms. Comfortable. Beautiful. Traditional AND modern (what?! You heard me.) We will absolutely return and we are so appreciative of the amazing experience provided by the team here. Special shout out to Abby and Eddi, who were two of our point people....

Stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed the stay. Was great value for money as these ryokans can be very expensive! Took the late check in option and we did not have meals here but ate in restaurants in the village. Bedrooms are in quaint, cozy, older style with paper and wooden screens. Our room overlooked the pretty canal bridges and willow trees - just beautiful! Luckily Tommo provided extra matresses as we are not used to sleeping on futons! ||Very kind and hospitable staff and it's also family owned for over 300 years so they really care that you have a nice experience. ||When staying here you get to dress in traditional Yakuta robe for the onsen bathing. You also get a pass for all 7 onsens in the village from the hotel included in the room rate. Fantastic traditional bathing and extremely relaxing. ||All in all a great place to stay and it's a lovely traditional village giving you a memorable...

Absolutely lovely Ryokan! Gorgeously and clearly lovingly redesigned, the house was just perfect for our stay. We've stayed at quite a number of ryokans before, and loved how the owners modernized the house, and so stylishly so, yet kept the Japanese soul and traditionality of a house with such a long history. The rooms were sufficiently sized - I believe there are no Western beds available so we slept on futons (sorry we do prefer beds, if only for comfort and practicality's sake). The pillows were buckwheat pillows as well. There are 3 smallish onsens, and one thing we liked very much was that we could make our time at the onsen private by closing the doors - so each guest's onsen time is essentially private. The only time this didn't work was during the morning peak hours. We enjoyed the ryokan's perfect location in the centre of the small town as well. The staff and owner's hospitality were exceptional too.

Gorgeous newly renovated ryokan in the heart of Kinosaki. The hotel presents an elegant aesthetic through intention in design - achieving a harmonious balance between traditional and contemporary. The room and private onsens are clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and attentive. The dinner and breakfast are delicious. Overall, our stay was a fantastic experience and we had the luxury of staying in the spacious room 215. The only "issue," if you could call it that, was we did not have enough stomach space to fit in all of the dinner. A phrase we never thought would come across our lips - there was too much crab! Sashimi, grilled, boiled, hotpot, in congee - you name it we had it. Thoughtfully prepared and abundant. The Kobayashiya specialty, a deep-fried lotus root bun, was the highlight of breakfast and our favourite bite.
