Grand Opera hotel — Hotel in Almaty

It was OK to start with, but then it went downhill rapidly. On the plus side, the rooms were spacious and well-equipped. The hotel is also in a good location. The downsides are many. The rooms were not cleaned during our 5-night stay. There was a partially used toilet paper roll when I checked in, and I had to ask at reception to get more toilet paper. The breakfast was poor. Very limited selection - cold fried eggs, bread, cheese. No drinks offered. On my last night at 4am, they tried to evict me from my room...Despite me having settled my bill the day before. Imagine as a female staying alone in the room, having men persistently trying to come into your room at a 4am. No one else in my group had this problem despite us all being on the same booking and paying at the same time. The WiFi was spotty at best. 5.On checkout, they said I'd taken 2 beers and 1 Coca-Cola from the minibar. I don't even drink beer and most certainly had not taken anything from...

Hi we booked in grand opera hotel on 16 th September to 20th September for 3 rooms.after staying in two nights some staff came and stared telling down floor water is poring.bz off there plumbing issues they asked us to check outeven they don’t English properly.on 19th September they suddenly asked us to check out prior one day.bz off there mistake they just asked us to vacate the room with out giving alternate rooms.and also staff are very rude and in my life time travel experience I never had this kind off experience.please don’t go to this property.From now onwards I decided not to go this kind off cheap property.bz one day again I have to book other property bz off my flight was on next day.with out saying sorry they just asked us to check out.this is one off the worst...

The Good -|1. Central location, bang opposite Rixos Almaty|2. Cheap hotel with big and spacious rooms||The Bad -|1. Badly managed, staff doesn't speak English||The Ugly-|1. Rooms smell of decaying carpet and upholstery|2. Really bad ventilation in bathrooms, it stinks really bad, double whammy of both stinking bathroom as well as bedroom will make your head spin|3. When we reached there, staff denied us boarding, we booked rooms through booking.com but staff said that rooms ain't available. It took us almost an hour to convince them to provide with an upgrade which they did reluctantly. ||Hotel has good space and perfect location, they need renovation and good management to turn things around.
