Stayed 6 nights (half board). Highly impressed with the clean and comfortable rooms.|Great location within walking distance of all main attractions. The Sky 17 restaurant for breakfast and evening meals has terrific views of the city and mountains. Reception is on the 17th floor, and the steps up to the entrance of the hotel needs a little maintenance. The hotel is predominantly a business hotel with conference facilities but is also ideal for tourists. |What made our stay memorable and special was the kindness of the staff. (there is not enough kindness in the world). It was our first time in Kazakhstan and not knowing the language or what to expect. Aigerim and Guljaina on reception with their young apprentice Nikolaev, made us feel at ease with a smile and reassurance who sorted out all our taxis gave info on sims for phone / exchange currency, where to go, what to see along with organising our breakfast boxes. Thank you.|The Restaurant staff, Amina, Valeria, Natali and the barman Zasulan (Milkman) also greeted us with a warm smile. Amina and Valeria whose English was exceptional took time to explain the menu, gave tips on local customs and traditions and it felt at times we were having dinner with friends. I cannot praise them enough, all of them were exceptional, professional, super nice with great attitudes but most of all they were incredibly welcoming, helpful and friendly. The are a credit to this hotel. Would we stay...
Read moreVery Unhappy with the staff not at all foreigner friendly. Only meant for people who can understand and talk in their language.
Reception Staff thou helpful the reservation staff has flaw. Inspite of booking in three weeks in advance and emailing repeatedly, no reply is received.
And Inspite of requesting we are not happy with the room post arrival they couldn't change. As they were all booked, I repeatedly stated that room view on 12th floor has direct sight of a corporate and it would be really appreciated if changes could be made as we were on our honeymoon. They were helpless some ex employee from reservations whose email id is available on Agoda (site from which we had booked) had left and they were not aware about my request.
On the 12th Floor city, 1st day itself When we opened window people from opposite building office could literally see through.
The wifi doesn't work we have to go and stand near the gate to have full network. The tea pot stopped working immediately upon using during same day. Had to wait till next day second half to get it fixed.
I did so much research and although the reception staff were very helpful but the hotel needs to fix reservations staff Inspite of booking superior room it felt we are staying in below average occupancy.
Sorry but I'm extremely unhappy.. the location is excellent, the rooms are average the service needs...

Out of 6 days, 3 days i couldn't sleep because the room was burning hot. Numerous times I've told the staff to change my room if they aren't competent enough to make it work but they aren't doing it. Taking everything too lighly and they are very slow to understand what you want as a customer. The cleaning ladies are pathetic, harsh and rude. The staff isn't hospitable or welcoming at all. The mere staff that they have is drowning in arrogance here. The breafast is pathetic if you're a vegetarian or vegan. In the name of food they offer raw tomatoes and capsicum in breakfast. Literally I cannot believe I'm staying in a 4 star. In India, even 2 star hotels have better amenities and the staff is 100x more humble towards guests who are their bread and butter. |And yeah, the hotel starts from floor 12 to floor 18 ...so forget anyone is downstairs to collect your luggage or take you to the reception. That's a 4 STAR HOTEL for you in ALMATY, KZ. ||I want a full refund for my stay if they are not changing my room on...
