Masai Paradise Cottages — Hotel in Kinondo ward

Dirty pool; extremely dirty furniture; dirty kitchen; hardly working WiFi; no generator (long power breaks every week since 2020); bad management. Snakes; Scorpions; Centipede; bed bugs; cockroaches. Wildlife there is incredible. A green mamba fell down from the palm tree by the pool, almost hitting me and a baby. I’ve been stung by a Scorpion inside the cottage. I had Centipede inside (which is far worse than Scorpions) as well as bed bugs and cockroaches. And big monkeys, of course, sneaking in and steal your food. The kittens are nice though. They love music. I came there in 2020 and been staying there half of the years since. It was “rustic” when I came, and unfortunately nothing have improved since, because of bad management and unfriendly owner (the Mama). All except for one is still working there (Khonde, a nice guy), they mostly quit after short time. They don’t pay their workers on time and they underpay them all the time, so please understand them if they ask for something small, as some might go hungry for days, waiting for their minimal pay-check far under tariff from their stingy owner to arrive. The pool used to be clean, but now the owner doesn’t want to spend electricity on the pump (which should run at least 8 h a day), circulating and cleaning the water. I’ve been twice 1 month without pool access in 2023 — no compensation nor apologies given. It’s bad management without structure or proper routines. They might forget to clean your room, even if you are the only guest. Security is up and down. You might spend ten minutes to get out at night, looking for a sleeping gateman. Guests have also been “missing” stuff there, all from small items to computer, without anyone bothering… Entrance is dark with only 4 of 10 lamps working. They don’t put on the path way light inside at night either, saving money… The place could be wonderful if it was taken care of, instead it is in decay. For a night or a weekend it might be OK. Caution! The place is not properly maintained, we were the only guests, and although the hosts were nice and welcoming during the first conversation, in the evening we discovered that the sheets were full of oil stains, and worst of all, the shower electrocuted us due to exposed electricity in the water heating system, danger!!! The lady was not at all surprised when we told her this on the phone, did not say sorry, and the next day when we left the dangerous place she did not think she should lower the price and was not nice, she even asked for a higher price than the price her son had agreed with me on the phone, at least update yourself on the price offered to the customer….. It's lucky it didn't end worse, electrocution like that while showering is life-threatening, I recommend...

The place is pitch dark when it's evening time and no sort of entertainment within the home. The shared pool is out of bounds beyond 6pm and also it's not child friendly. The facility didn't have water in the taps. There are no food joints or grocery shops nearby therefore you must be well equipped before...
